This item was supposed to have been picked up but they never came so I have been left with an item that doesn’t work and not got my money back.

Not for bathroom use.
Wanted a unit to control black mould in the bathroom. As the description says it can be used in the bathroom, I presumed it would operate via rechargable batteries. When the unit arrived I discovered it was mains use only. For safety reasons most bathrooms do not have 3 pin sockets, so it would need to be run using a long extension lead, a very unsatisfactory solution. I have put it in my kitchen to collect steam when cooking. I will now do more extensive research for a unit designed for bathroom use.

Excellent product
I've never been a fan of dehumidifying products, as I've always thought they were a rip-off. However, my bedroom is part of an extension on an older house that hadn't even been damp-proofed when it was built by the previous occupants. We didn't notice it until years after we moved in, when the wallpaper started peeling off the walls, and now the room smells horribly damp. We've had it fixed now, but the water must still be in the walls as we get that mildew on the bottom part of the walls, and it's very cold and clammy in the winter. I decided to first try out a hanging dehumidifier in the wardrobe that was very cheap before investing in something bigger. I was stunned. I've had it in there for just a few weeks, and the moisure bag is almost full. This convinced me to get a proper dehumidifier, so I bought this little one, as it's an ideal size for the room.I only got it last night, and this morning, it already had half an inch of water in it. I'm shocked that there's so much moisture in the air. The room is also next to the kitchen, so it has to work extra hard. It's a very good size, and the design is nice, so it's not an eyesore. It's a little louder than I'd thought, but I didn't notice it with other noises going on, and it wasn't so loud that it disturbed my sleep. One thing I did notice was that my nose didn't feel as blocked when I woke up, I could tell that the air was fresher, even for just that short amount of time.I would defintely recommend this product if the room is small (mine is about 7ft x 9ft, and an L shape). Anything larger, I don't think you'd notice the difference so much. It doesn't matter if the tray doesn't hold that much water, as emptying it out will take all of 30 seconds, and it's a small price to pay for the benefit.

Cost effective and efficient . Designed for small rooms..
I have a bedroom of approximately 20' x 13' by 8' high. It is north facing and does not receive any direct sunlight in the winter. Also it is at garden level with floor to ceiling double glazed doors. It therefore can get a bit damp in wet winters and mould has started to appear. I bought this dehumidifier to try and help reduce some of the condensation in the room. I leave it on all day and switch it off at night. Its fairly quiet but annoying enough for me to switch off at night. It consumes very little so i'm happy to leave it running throughout the day. I have a British Gas Energy meter so I can see how low the consumption rate of this machine is. It is designed for smaller spaces, I believe, but it is slowly removing some of the damp in the room. I can see the difference already. Don't expect fast miracles; I drain the 1/2litre tank once a week, but it it's quietly doing its thing. Probably should have got something bigger (hence the 4 stars) but i'm happy with the performance and the results for such a small machine!
