Nuvo Eco Ceramic Handy Coffee Bean Roaster

I have now been roasting coffee with the Nuvo Coffee Bean Roaster for over three years. Reading the reviews I note that people have their favourite methods of roasting and there is some variation. We are small quantity coffee drinkers and I tend to roast small amounts. This takes me very little time. There is no smell, as I prefer a medium roast and the beans do not burn. Roasting a small amount also means that the beans do not jump out when they crack and neither does the chaff. If we are about to have visitors I make several roasts and freeze them together after a day or two of letting them settle. It's actually less tiring to do small amounts, as they cook quickly and there is not so much effort put into shaking. During this cold winter it was too uncomfortable to stand outside shaking out the chaff. Instead, I put the colander on the draining board and kneaded it out into the sink with my hands. The mess was very little and it all went down the drain eventually.

Its big upgrade from frying on a pan. Way more consistent and easier. Only handle is little bit short, was this product 15% bigger it would be perfect.

I have used it a few times. Getting decent even roast. I think it is a very good piece of kit at a reasonable price. Good starting point and a good place to start learning. Great coffee doesn’t need to be very expensive. I am enjoying the experience and a good cup of freshly roasted coffee.

This is a brilliant bit of kit. Well made and can easily make a couple of days coffee in one session. The hole in the handle allows you to blow away chaff mid roast or after (but do it outdoors) and it also allows you to pour out the cooked beans. Three tips: watch the video on YouTube, make sure you time the roast - I cook four scoops of green Sumatran beans for 11 mins precisely with the last 30s are done off the heat. Finally it is smoky and messy - only use inside with an extractor fan and blow the chaff away outside.

This works as expected but is a workout for dominant arm you have to keep it moving, capacity is quite small. I probably drink too much coffee so have switched to using a wok to roast 250g at a time which is not quite as even roasting. So good product for smaller quantities.

Arrived well-packaged and as advertised. Easy to use for roasting small batches of coffee beans good for a few days' consumption. Worth the money if you want fresh-roasted coffee each time without the bulky and expensive roasters.☕☕☕
