After having a tiff with my local Vet regarding the outrageous "upselling" of their products and services (without any consideration for my pet's welfare) I decided to approach my dog's arthritic shoulder from a holistic angle. I had heard of the benefits of Green Lipped mussel before but not really considered it as an alternative to prescription drugs. My 12 yr old dog is on Metacam (which we've now traded in for Onsior) cod liver oil, a raw meat diet and Glucosamine tablets. She's only been on (1 per day in her breakfast) Green Lipped Mussel capsules for a week but we've definitely noticed she's actually perkier in herself, looks fantastically shiny and others dog walkers have commented on how young she looks - I think I might start taking these myself actually! now I'm turning 40. Its probably a little too early to tell how the effect is working on her shoulder but she seems much better than being on prescription drugs which we've now managed to eliminate completely, I'm happy to say. I bought the Duo pack as I wasn't sure how much I needed to see a difference in my dog but its proving very positive and hopefully I can stave off those vet bills. The info that arrived with the pack was great too! Give this a go, its fishy but I don't mind as I can tell its a quality and pure product. Highly recommended so far!!

Having tried a multitude of different products to help the painful arthritis in my hip and knee without any success, I decided to try Green lipped Mussel extract, because I remembered my mother using it many years ago. I chose this one as it was a duo saver pack and I thought there was enough to hopefully get a result over a longer period of time. When it arrived and I opened it, I was immediately stuck by the light fresh smell. Really really pleasant. I have taken two a day for two weeks now and I can honestly say I am totally amazed. I haven't done anything else and I haven't added in any other supplements at all...My pain has almost completely gone. In fact it started to diminish after just a week and it was very noticeable. It is still reducing day by day Walking had become a very painful experience for me and something I avoided, which was distressing as I loved it. Now I am now able to walk happily and pain free for at least an hour a day without any ill effects at all. I am so happy with the results of taking this that I have even joined a yoga class to extend the effects. Something I would not have contemplated doing before. I shall definitely be buying it again, and I think I will also get some for my dog. I feel as though I have got my life back.

Read an article that stated Green Lipped Mussels are supposed to help ease Osteoarthritis. June 2014 - after dancing all night outside on concrete floor in flip flops I was in a lot of pain in my knee and hip which didn't go away - long story short after investigation it appears that I need a new hip and knee joints. too young to have them replaced - really shocked, not about the age! just the arthritis. No tablets prescribed or even after having injections into both areas have eased the pain, someone suggested a TENS machine and that works. I was having to use the TENS machine every other day, for 1.5 hours, which wasn't totally banishing the pain just making it easier to bear but was told that my body would eventually get used to the TENS machine. After reading the article, even though I'd tried Glucosamine tablets, which didn't help, didn't think I had anything to lose with trying these mussels and the change is unbelievable. I no longer have to use the TENS machine every other day, in fact I haven't used it for over a week and that is after being on the go with a new puppy as well as my other dog. I also gave my husband these tablets and when I asked if he could tell a difference with taking them he said 'no' and then a little later, told me he had thought about it and he no longer got the pain when he bent and doesn't ache as much after working all day as he used to - funny how you can forget about the pain once it has gone!! This is the only thing that we have done differently. I can now delay using the TENS machine which is great. I also read past reviews and see people have given these tablets to their dog, so as mine has 3 plates in her back leg after being knocked down, she has also been having a tablet. She's always on the go, the accident didn't slow her down, it was 5 years ago but she did sometimes lift the leg and she has been in front of the pup when they're doing laps of the garden so think they must be helping her too. That pleased with this product that I've also ordered some for my mother as she has rheumatoid arthritis, so hoping she gets some relief too - so to recap for us this product has made a big difference and I could tell that difference within a week and my husband said it was about 2 for him. I can't rate this supplement highly enough. I came across it by chance as my mum had been using it on her whippet - on the recommendation of the vet - to ease the dog's arthritic hip. Having been an avid sportswoman in my youth, my joints, at almost 50, are now frustratingly creaky. My feet in particular (having been a middle distance runner) have taken a pounding over the years and had started to show signs of arthritis with stiffness in the mornings and aches in colder weather. After taking these for just 4-days (2 a day) the stiffness has disappeared completely and I have no pain at all. I was completely blown away by how quickly they worked! I also have an on-going rotator-cuff issue in my right shoulder caused from a dodgy dive around 4 years ago and have noticed this is also beginning to ease. It's not cured by any means, but the symptoms have lessened and I'm hoping with continued use I may experience complete relief. My body generally feels stronger and I wake up feeling like I can actually get up, rather than having to gradually get going. This is a very good value duo too and my mum has also started taking them now ..... the dog has a fight on her hands!

I thought I would wait until I had been taking this product for 6 weeks (which is a good loading period for any supplement) before being able to properly assess its usefulness and give a review. I have had a right adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) that was coming up to its first birthday!. The natural history of a frozen shoulder is 12 months minimum and up to and in excess of 24 months if you're unlucky. After having taken this green lipped muscle product for 5 weeks I noticed a 50% reduction in pain and 25% increase in range of motion - I can now reach further up my back with my right hand increasing my back scratching abilities somewhat. I can therefore conclude that this product has been of some help reducing pain and increasing my body's healing ability or if cynical, I could argue that it was purely coincidental that taking this product just happened to occur as the shoulder decided to obey the natural history of the condition and 'thaw' out. I'm willing to concede and acknowledge that this green lipped muscle product has indeed helped me and is helping my body's natural healing abilities to resolve this vexing shoulder condition. Got these for my 5yr old GSD on my vets recommendation. Dexter was having problems with his hocks and when examined in obvious pain. Three weeks on and oh my word what a difference, he is now eager to go for beach runs again which before he used to be plodding along, on road walks he has definitely picked up the pace and when examined doesn't bat an eyelid. I was unsure of the dosage with him being a big boy weighing in at 48kg and on checking with my vet we decided on 2 a days with meals, I will add he will eat them out of my hand, he finds them delicious, I find the smell gross, but hey ho whatever works for my boy! Occasionally when I know he has over done the manic racing around he now does, I will throw in an extra capsule with his evening feed, he is then up and about and bouncing the following morning. I will be purchasing these again and am looking at them as an investment to Dexters well being, he is so much happier. Happy dog, happy human.

I have been giving these to my two older dogs to prevent painful arthritis and thus far they have been doing the trick. Innopure come in Gelatin capsules which can easily be split in two. I do this and sprinkle the powder on my dog's food rather than risk putting in a whole capsule only to find it discarded at the end of the meal! The tub says the GLM is manufactured in the UK which makes you feel kinda safe. It does not say, though, where the GLM is sourced. There are no other added ingredients. They were delivered very swiftly which was a bonus as I had run out of my previous batch! The only reason why I dropped a star for this product is that the capsule itself is quite hard rather than a soft gel, and because it is put together in two parts it could be uncomfortable for some people to swallow.
