This handy unit is the easy and eco-friendly way to dispose of dog waste. Once installed in the ground, simply scoop your dog waste into the unit (each unit has a foot operated lid), add water and digester powder or tablets and the waste will break down into a harmless and odourless liquid which simply drains away into the ground. No need for plastic poop bags, no dog waste in waste bins and best of all - clean and safe lawns and gardens. Model 3800 is a pyramid shaped unit with an open base, working on a leach bed system - waste liquid simply drains away into the ground through the open bottom of the unit. All Doggie Dooley models require in-ground installation. Model 3800 will require some simple assembly. To install in the ground you will need to dig a square hole in the ground 20 inches square and 23 inches deep to put the unit into, then fill in round the sides of the unit with soil to secure it. This model is suitable for 3 medium sized or 4 small dogs. Model 3500 is a smaller unit and is suitable for 1-2 dogs. Model 3800X is a larger capacity unit which requires a deeper hole underneath. Model 3000 is septic tank (bucket style) system and is suitable for 2-4 dogs. How much water and terminator to use. This model requires either 1 tbsp of digester powder or one terminator tablet per dog daily and a few litres of water 2 to 3 times per week. The digester powder/terminator tablet is non-toxic, harmless mixture of natural bacteria and enzyme cultures designed especially for pet waste. The unit comes with a starter pack of terminator tablets or powder. What goes on inside? Where does drainage occur? flies drawn to this design? Hear that structure is fragile.** A: Nearly all of it is under ground and the poo goes into the chamber with an enzyme powder that comes with the doggie dooley. It pretty much just dissolves over time. We didn't notice flies with ours and we used it for a few years without breakage. We moved and that's not something I need to dig up and take with me so I can't vouch for it beyond that. **Q: This work for 2 great danes? If so how offten to add water and does it make grass greener?** A: If it will work on 2 Great Danes depends on a lot of factors, however in General it should, as the unit can handle 4 normal size dogs. While this is not a product made to help grass grow, like any septic tank, it will have a tendency to make the grass around it greener. We cannot advise how often you need to add water, again there are just way too many variables. Adding water is on an "As needed" basis. **Q: can I use it in the winter? If not, where do I put the poo in the winter? do I have to wait to pickup in the spring?** A: If I doesn't get covered in snow you can use it other than that I don't wait until the spring because when it unfreezes it makes a mess and smells terrible. If I can not use my doggie doodley I put mine in the trash. (NO not in the house I leave it out side. lol) **Q: Which model would work for 3 large dogs?** A: I think they would all work...however what depends is how well your soil drains and also that you maintain the Doggie Dooley. We have three dogs, one large and two medium sized. We have had our unit for two and a half years, feeding and adding water regularly and we just had to have it cleaned out as it was full.
