Fun, easy to use, and improves grip strength.
I used to have one with the pullstring. I much prefer this one with the autostart. It may seem like an unnecessary gimmick but I honestly use this more than the old one because I haven't gotta faff around with string (or finding the bloody thing), I just pull this back on a flat surface and get spinning. I regularly lift weights and even though I doubt this will ever rival heavy deadlifts for improving grip, it's definitely a nice substitute and does seem to be improving my forearm and wrist size. The rev counter is handy, it's encouraging to keep getting faster speeds. I bought this one as the LED lights seemed unnecessary on the higher end model.

Great little device
Having heard mixed reports on powerballs I decided to buy one to support my weight training, especially as I have a previous injury to my right arm which often results in pain when lifting weights. I went for the autostart model and to be fair have been very impressed. The autostart is very easy and I have found this particular model runs smoothly and is so agile I often use it for a couple of minutes in one hand and transfer it to the other without it stopping meaning I can have a decent session. I have noticed already it uses muscle which I don't work out when doing weight training and I was surprised how much I ached the first few times. If you are either recuperating from am injury or looking to supplement weight training I would highly recommend a powerball and the NSD autostart version in particular.

Get a Grip
I bought this on impulse in the hope that it could help me with a surer grip at golf and also to see if it would cure painful elbows I sometimes get after workouts (and golf). As it's just arrived I can't say what it will do on this physical side, but I learned how to use it pretty quickly with the helpful Youtube videos you're directed to. You can feel the fatigue setting in after three minutes, but I bet you build up quickly. I think I have not a bad grip, but my biggest concern was losing grip of the ball and it flying out of my hand. It's funny, it does feel as if it has a life and force of its own and protests with clacking if your techniques isn't correct. I'm happy with the purchase, it seems to be a quality product and I'll wait and see if it becomes a regularly used item, or will join the George Foreman grill in the cupboard.

Fantastic rehab tool!!
Excellent product for rehabbing tendon issue (lateral epicondylitis) that has been ongoing for 18 months. My job in automotive glazing is very physical and hard on the body especially the arms., so this does not exactly help promote healing. After trying all sorts for 12 months with little success I turned to eccentric exercises with incremental weight increases over several months which finally started the healing & strengthening process, and got it to approx 70% of pre injury function, but no further. The Powerball is the tool to restore full function and get it to 100% - healed. It has taken a few weeks of persistent use at approx 5 - 6000rpm for 5 minutes of spinning to promote blood flow & movement to the elbow joint & tendon insertion, but you can feel the gyroscopic movement of the ball working the hand & arm in a therapeutic way that is hard to replicate with any other tool. You can actually feel it working. You have to be patient & use it every day, but it will do the job. Blood flow is what heals us in the soft tissues/tendons. Tendons have very little blood flow in the joint. Powerball promotes blood flow & movement. Forget all the rubber band flossing, rubber sticks, and other products. They either make the issue worse - for me it was the Thera Band rubber sticks that aggravated the elbow joint - or just give temporary relief. Band flossing is hard to do yourself, & interferes with the blood flow in your arm, so very awkward to do yourself for little gain. The Powerball is very easy to use, and will keep the joints, tendons, & soft tissue in your arms in good shape. A great rehab tool that not only works, but will also help pre-hab your wrist, elbow, arm from future injury. The supplier also gives excellent backup service with any queries. very professional, & a pleasure to deal with. Their website is very informative and has all the information & videos you will need. If you have arm issues that are not healing then do yourself a favour and get one of these - they work!! Recommended 100%

Great So Far
I just happened to spot Powerballs when I googled yet again to try and find a solution to my RSI caused by sock knitting (!). 3 months of physio didn't really help. I then looked them up on Amazon to find they had great reviews - so I got one - worth a shot, sounds like it could work reading the reviews. Took one reviewer’s advice about getting one with autostart - I’m pleased I did - it would be a hassle to get the Powerball going otherwise. Easy to use, very powerful. I can only manage 1.5 mins with my dodgy arm. The Powerball certainly hasn’t done it any harm - I am optimistic this gadget is going to help - if I continue to use it a little every day. Great invention!

Something for Donald Trump?
Difficult this item - bit like Marmite, unsure if I like it or not. 4 days in and still not cracked it, well, almost with my right hand but not left. I think the trick is to relax your wrist. It is useless in my left hand. going to persevere. I do really think this is a product that works; improve wrist and forearm strength. The problem, though is getting the knack of doing it as I certainly feel it in my wrists and forearm and would score it highly for that, its just frustrating at times and if folk are prepared to hang in there. Bit like the rubix cube I am. Also incidentally, the strength comes in rotating the power ball a zillion times, I thought the ball remains wound and moving and the strength' came from trying keep holding of a moving, vibrating ball. That's not what it does, once you stop rotating, the ball slows rather quickly. Update, some two weeks later: now a 5; very portable, lightweight device, ideal for traveling, but perhaps not in public spaces. Cracked it after 5 days and does improve forearm and wrists strength. Not worth its weight in gold, but certainly a valuable addition to any serious trainer, or somebody suffering, or recovering from injury. Brilliant. Furthermore, starting the thing takes some technique too, again , you get there, but it may not happen quickly enough for some. I can imagine folk wishing they could fling it at an inanimate object, saying something like Donald Trump.

Making progress with tennis elbow rehabilitation. Great training aid.
Working very well in restoring forearm strength whilst rehabilitation from tennis elbow is ongoing. It is also helping with RSI with right arm from extensive daily mouse and keyboard work. The Powerball is also a relaxing daily routine for rehab training whilst listening to music and watching the fish tank or garden. I expect the build quality will prove to be reliable for many years. The Powerball website provides very useful advice on getting the best out of this device.

Elbow Pain does seem better but not sure if there aren't cheaper ways to work out
Trying something to ease my golfers elbow. Pretty easy to use with dominant hand, getting the knack with the non dominant hand a bit tricky. Does seem to give a workout to the forearm quite quickly but not really much more than shaking my protein shake? But to be honest the elbow pain does seem better The counter IMHO is a complete waste of time. Not battery powered so cant review your session. when using it your moving the ball so fast you cant read it so I'd avoid wasting extra cash on the counter version. I'm a bit mixed about it really
