WS 9130 - classic Weatherstation with forecast of weather situation and tendency

Coming out of the box the the units seemed well made and of good quality. On inserting batteries as instructed the weather station immediately received the signal from the transmitter. Within 2 min the clock also picked up the time. The only adjustment needed was to set the time zone. The temperature readings were accurate to within 0.5°C compared with other thermometers. Up to now I just moved the transmitter from room to room to see how the central heating was set. Am very pleased with this machine and consider it good value for money and looking forward to finding a suitable place outdoors for the transmitter.

Very easy to set up and very useful. Good size info on the screen and good straight forward product. Nice to have min and max temperatures constantly on view and easy to reset them. Very happy with purchase

Works exactly as expected. I inserted the batteries (2 different sizes, AA and AAA) into the receiver and transmitter and the transmitter was read straight away. The instruction book advises the order and timing involved fitting the batteries, so it's well worth a read rather than wade straight in. Although the case is plastic it does not look cheap and fits well in a minimalist setting. As stated, the time is radio controlled via the German system and should update OK in the UK, It's certainly easy to set the time and GMT zone. The sensor for outdoors is robust and has a holder that can be attached to a wall etc.I have mine outside the bathroom window and it provides updates happily. I'd rather they didn't have the clock and alarm facility,but I knew it had that when I ordered to it's not a problem. The main reason I bought this was to check the outside temperature before I go jogging so as to know what to wear, and that it does fine. As long as people recognize the limitations of the device, they should be happy with it, I am.

This is a great little device and we have used it for a total of 60 nights when holidaying in our touring caravan. It has now failed - the external temperature isn't being transmitted to the base. I have contacted the company in Germany. They say return it to Amazon....I'll keep looking but haven't found out how to do that yet. I'd have hoped for more support from the manufacturer. A very expensive mistake!! I will update this review if I get a better response from the company or from Amazon. UPDATE - I remain unhappy with the manufacturer’s response, but Amazon came through - I contacted customer services via chat and they agreed a full refund immediately. I’ll be buying a different model with the money!

Just ordered a replacement. The previous one lasted 14 years so no complaints Great product

So far so good. Previous ones struggled to show GMT or BST. I always needed to take one hour off German time. This time .... success! This new version also works outside, so far. The only help it cannot give is how to grow perfect orchids. I would recommend this station for general use.... great! December 2015, and the outside unit has packed up. The time is correct, but the outside temerature just does not happen. Changed batteries and reset in the correct order. This is at least the 3rd one of these I have had, and the end result is-- don't bother. They do not last.

This replaces a Silvercrest as it finally gave up the ghost after years of faithful service. I'd lasted 3 months without it and decided a replacement was needed. It (this weather station) is virtually idiot proof to set up and was up and running in less than 10 minutes of coming out of the box. The indoor out outdoor temperature settings were displayed almost immediately. I've always liked to know what to expect outside before venturing forth. Unlike the Silveline it does not have a humidity reading or date but those were not really necessary anyway. Whilst only having three weather predictions (sunny, cloudy with a bit of sun and rain) it is considered more than adequate, for me anyway as you are also provided with arrows informing you of what is likely to come. In any event it cannot be any worse than the BBC weather forecasting can it? I note that at least one reviewer thought a snow/ice display would be useful, but to me if it is less than approx 3deg C it is pretty obvious anyway. The jury is still out on why you need to know the ongoing maximum/minimum temperatures (both indoors and out) though. Answers on a postcard..... Probably me being pedantic but a 12hr clock facility would have been nice but as they say you can never have it all. The readings/display are far bigger though which more than makes up for these 'shortcomings'. Bit of a tip if you live in the UK - set the clock for -1. All in all very pleased and if it lasts as long as the outgoing one did it will prove to be excellent value, we'll see?
