How long will it last with normal daily use?** A: It has a high attention to detail in design and manufacture. The thick stainless steel tang runs the full length of the handle making it very strong for several years or even decades of daily use. The brass insert for wall rack storage is a nice touch also. High quality wood too. I'm so impressed, the other Perwin line of tools will now get a look see when researching other tools for potential purchase. The sheath is of high quality construction to. I looked at every single hori hori knife with 4-5 stars on Amazon and went with this one. I also looked at newly introduced and or unrated hori's. Normally, I try to avoid Chines made product due to mega-multiples of ethical concerns (which is something the Perwin people should continually fret over, and consider a manufacturing move to Vietnam etc, yes Vietnam also has pollution issue, but at least they take IP - intellectual property rights seriously, unlike evil China with all of its other issues that continually pissMeOff. ) . **Q: Is the belt loop large enough to fit a 2 inch belt?** A: Yes. Likely up to 3 inches. I don't have a belt that wide to check against but 2 inches is fine. **Q: Will the blade rust? How to maintain it?** A: I don't know where the person above "Public Name" got their info, but the blade is stainless steel, not carbon steel, the un-sharpened parts sort or resemble carbon s. Stainless is all over the description and in one of the photos. Other descriptors say 'rust resistent' while others say 'rust proof', but widely inaccurate and incomplete info is par-for-the-course on Amazon, especially among Chinese sellers. The only time 'carbon' appears is in the reply above. I've been researching many of the hori hori garden blades and I think I'll go with this one despite it being of *Chinese origin. The attention to detail looks excellent - ie the brass insert in the tool rack hanger hole and the look of the handle itself. Sometimes the QC - quality control of Chinese products varies from batch to batch, which results in several highly vexed customers posting reviews of one or two stars and a photo of the broken tool, but the all reviews with photos for this item are very good with no major complaints, except for a single 3-stars by 'SeanD' and it's not even a hori-hori tool. It has sharp edges like a knife, but is heavy enough to dig. It has a full tang and solid construction. I find it particularly useful for digging narrow holes in hard soil, and for dividing dense root mats. I take it camping and leave the survival knife at home. This tool does it all and better. Its heavy, but that's a consequence of being so rugged and able to handle prying and digging in hard soil. We'll see if use dulls the edges, and if so, whether they can be resharpened. I would think so. Overall this is a high quality item that serves a specific purpose better than any other tool I've seen.
