Easy to install and use
I found the installation of this easy to do. I made sure the drive I was going to use was an NVME drive and the drive appeared in PI OS without needing to do anything special. All I needed to do was the standard Linux stuff to format, mount, etc.Tests seem to highlight that TRIM, etc. is not supported.

Great Idea... But.....
So I got this today. I was so excited, however when I opened the box and pulled out the product I got this (See the picture). It looks like someone may have done the old switcheroo. I will give an update when the replacement comes in. People are the worst sometimes.Update!! Got my replacement the next day. Works great, fast, and really was easy to install. After getting my replacement I am even more convinced that I got a returned item the first time. That is definitely a quality control issue. But, either way its corrected now and works as advertised.

Perfect solution for home tasks where storage matters.
Used it with the Samsung NVMe drive (MZ-V8P1T0BW) I bought @Amazon. Even though the extension board is connected over USB 3.0 it still provides quite a fast I/O speed, around 250Mbytes/s for writes (1Mbyte chunks) and 330Mbytes/s for reads (1Mbyte chunks):# time dd if=/dev/zero of=random.data bs=1M count=4096 status=progress4197449728 bytes (4.2 GB, 3.9 GiB) copied, 17 s, 247 MB/s4096+0 records in4096+0 records out4294967296 bytes (4.3 GB, 4.0 GiB) copied, 17.4502 s, 246 MB/sreal 0m17.456suser 0m0.040ssys 0m16.376sRead speed would be a little bit faster:# time dd if=random.data of=/dev/null bs=1M status=progress3987734528 bytes (4.0 GB, 3.7 GiB) copied, 12 s, 332 MB/s4096+0 records in4096+0 records out4294967296 bytes (4.3 GB, 4.0 GiB) copied, 12.9372 s, 332 MB/sreal 0m12.941suser 0m0.013ssys 0m10.314sI believe the performance is affected by a few factors:- Performance of USB<>NVMe bridge IC.- Not a direct connection to the RPi4 CPU (it doesn't support external NVMe, nor doesn't have a PCIe bus, which can be used directly). However, for general usage (like Docker, etc.), it will be a huge performance boost over an ordinary micro SD card.

works, very nice setup
the case is nice. the case works well.the cooling fan is a little weird, the included script doesn't really work. There is a 3rd party daemon you can get that works ok. The fan is either on or off. So in order to control the temps it on/off/on/off the speed constantly. It has settings to allow the temp to slide while the fan is in its current state, this "solves" the problem. Takes a little playing with to get it.I am using this on a dns/mail server. :)
