I Want More Clay and Fawn
His Pretty Little Burden/His Pretty Little Queen checked off a lot of firsts for me. First time reading anything by Nicci Harris (yes, they are the 4th and 5th in Kids of the District), but I was able to keep up without reading the previous books. It was also my first time listening to Sofia Lette and Shane East. Both were absolutely phenomenal. These books touched on some sensitive subjects, and you could hear the emotions in their voices as they brought their characters to life. It was easy to get lost in this series, heck, the writing was so good I felt all warm and cozy when they were in Clay's room. This is a duet narration, with lovely Australian accents. You would likely enjoy this audiobook if you like:- Accents- Spice- Age Gap- He Uses His Peen to Pacify Her- Breeding

amazing!
Great story and plot with lots and lots of steamy spice! The ending did feel a little rushed and felt like I was missing an epilogue but the author does have another short book about their epilogue. Overall a really easy and fun read! Plot and characters steal your attention from the start and keep it throughout the whole book! Highly recommend.

Enjoyable Darkness *spoilers*
I am not always a fan of age gap novels but this is a good story about two very broken people beginning to heal. I am sad for Aurora though, I kind of wanted a hot, sexy trio happily ever after. I at least wanted a hot sex scene or two with Fawn, and Clay watching. I hope she gets her happily ever after and not with selfish Lorna.

HOW DOES EACH BOOK GET PROGRESSIVELY BETTER THAN THE LAST?!
Wow oh MAN did I love this book!! Clay is the literal man who has to make some seriously messed up decisions in the 2nd half of his and his little deers story. We picked up from the last book yet got to see them grow individually but as a couple as well. Some more of the drama that had been culminating since book one was resolved yet more intrigue was introduced leading us to our final Butcher brother. I can’t wait for Zander’s yet don’t want this to end. We meet with dad in this one and he holds true to what we always knew he was. A woman häting narcissist who felt entitled to using his daughter as a pawn. Of course, Sir (Clay) was not down for that and didn’t want to use her as bait when Dad came a knockin’. SPOILER!!! I didn’t like how Max took Fawn into danger when he literally threatened Zander for the same thing. Hypocrite much?! That literally was all I didn’t like. The steam between these two made me full on blush, hot DANG was it spïcy AND there was an abundance of it, which I ALSO love. This book had it all. From stëam to adventure to heartache…you get it all. The overall story got moved along more and there are only a few big reveals left. I’m so here for it!!! Shane East was a LITTLE extra in this story to me. He tried a bit too hard. Kinda threw me off but SofiaLette was spot on yet again. I do love this pairing for this series. All in all another banger that I gobbled up like a thanksgiving turkey 🦃. I’m going to be sad when this ends and bummed no audible book for the last one. That’s okay, I’ll still enjoy it immensely!!!

review on both books
This was my first read by this author and while it wasn’t great, it wasn’t all that bad either. First thing, this author does have a way with words that just makes your heart skip a beat; like I can actually feel the characters reading these lines to me! They’re raw and so powerful. Second thing, I hate that we didn’t get to see fawn develop more o an independent character. I would’ve loved to see her reaction with more fire and grit when she found out clay was using her. Third thing, the author did ok on expressing fawns reactions and feelings to her rape. At times dawn would be confused about her feelings, feel as if her body wasn’t her own, and I loved this aspect! It made it seem relatable! The only thing that bothered me was that fawn didn’t start talking about her feelings until the middle/end of book one! Fourth thing, clay’s alpha male character was sub-par. There were times he scratched that itch and there were times he totally missed it! Fifth thing, some chapters were too wordy! It wasn’t a bad read. Definitely could be better though :)

Not a Queen Yet
Fawn is starting to come to terms with her role in Clay’s life and what that means for her. She’s gaining some confidence but has unresolved trauma ❤️🩹 that she starts tackling in this book.I was hoping to see Fawn to grow to be a queen, 👸🏼but I understand that wouldn’t be realistic. She’s still an 18 year old kid without much life experience, especially after being coddled by Clay all this time. She is starting to show signs of growing into her role but isn’t there yet. I hope to see her step up in Xander’s book 🤞I love Clay and when Fawn breaks his fastidious control. 😮💨 He’s still giving DILF vibes and takes care of Fawn in his obsessive ways.We see more of Clay’s interaction with his brothers and get some resolution there. (I still have to go back and read their books 🤦🏽♀️) It felt a little rushed in the end, but I hope we a better wrap up in the next book.If you’re looking for a spicy, age-gap, mafia romance with an obsessive MMC, this is perfect! (Read His Pretty Little Burden first, though.) Highly recommend.

Clay & Fawn's HEA

Amazing!
This was an absolutely amazing conclusion to Fawn and Clay's story. I loved seeing Fawn develop her strength and figure out who she is, what she wants, and how to ask for it. Clay is still the controlling mafia don we met in HPLB but we see the softer side that Fawn brings out of him. This book has it all amazing character development, excellent plot, spice, and great supporting characters (Henchman Jeeves). This book held my attention from the first word to the last. Overall, another amazing installment in the Kids of the District series.

Brace yourself for a rollercoaster into this remarkable audio deliciousness
**Brace yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions as you delve into this remarkable tale of love and sacrifice that will stay with you long after the final words have been spoken. This story explores themes of growth, revelation, and redemption, as Sir and his Little Deer navigate the complexities of love, family, and loyalty. Through the power of love and Fawn's empowering presence, she teaches the powerful crime boss the true meaning of these elements. In this instalment, Nicci delves deeper into the mind of Clay Butcher, providing a riveting glimpse into his transformation since Fawn entered his life. We also get to go deeper into what makes Clay, Clay – we get an insight into his past, and through his love for Fawn, Clay develops a greater connection with his family. Both Clay and Fawn, despite their surface differences, share a profound sense of abandonment, making their connection all the more intense.Nicci has done an excellent job of creating complex and multi-dimensional characters, and Fawn is no exception. She's not just a helpless victim, but rather a strong and determined young woman who knows what she wants. In addition to the Praise, Clay empowers her at every opportunity, this is so unique to this story — it’s an empowerment kink. She’s had to go through so much in this transformation and Clay has been her saviour but in all this, she has been his, which is so beautiful.Clay has never felt love before and when this once closed powerful and scary AsF Mafia Don, opens up to his little Queen, it’s truly a swoonfest and will take your breath away – needless to say Clay Butcher is my forever BookBF and there was never any doubt because I’m all about the dominant Anti-Hero.Nicci's storytelling continues to mesmerise, showcasing her exceptional talent as a genius writer. The intricate plot unfolds with precision, offering surprising twists and revelations as she masterfully executes the balance between romance, crime, and emotional depth, immersing us in a deliciously dark world where passion and danger collide. The outstanding performances by Shane & Sofia, truly sets this audiobook apart from the rest. Shane's portrayal of Clay Butcher, the powerful, formidable and enigmatic crime boss, is nothing short of remarkable. Shane performs with intensity, depth, and raw emotion. His voice resonates with power, sensuality, and a vulnerability that will tug at your heartstrings.Shane’s performance in the action scenes, particularly the intense and graphic violent moments, and his unwavering dedication to delivering his absolute best, were true highlights for me. With his unparalleled mastery of the Australian accent, Shane's performance showcases his striking depth of talent and his ability to truly inhabit the character of Clay. As Clay, he commands attention, exuding a magnetic aura that draws listeners deep into the story. As an Australian myself, I can attest to the incredible skill and precision with which Shane masters this challenging accent. His ability to effortlessly embody Clay's complex character with an authentic Australian accent is a testament to his unmatched talent and why it’s not an exaggeration when I say he is THE BEST Australian male voice in Romance Audio and a true master of his craft – End Of! Sofia Lette's brilliant portrayal of Fawn Harlow, the tortured yet endearing heroine, is equally remarkable delivering an exceptional performance that perfectly captures the essence of Fawn: her vulnerability, tenacity & unwavering adoration for her ‘Everything”. Sofia's brilliant portrayal is both poignant & compelling, immersing us in Fawn's journey of self-discovery, strength, & unyielding love. Equally, her portrayal of the other female characters was brilliant & a standout for me was her portrayal of Victoria. Sofia’s ability to convey the complex emotions & motivations of this formidable woman was nothing less than awe-inspiring & brought an undeniable depth to her character. Sofia’s delivery of Victoria's cold & calculated demeanour sent shivers down my spine, while her portrayal of the underlying bitterness & inner turmoil added layers of complexity to the character. The chemistry between Sofia & Shane is palpable, igniting the narrative with passion, intensity, and a raw authenticity that is truly unforgettable. Their duet narration adds an extra layer of intimacy, allowing listeners to experience every moment as if they were right there, immersed in the story. Once again, the production quality of this audiobook is a cut above the rest. The meticulous attention to detail & the masterful work of the production engineer create an atmosphere that feels incredibly immersive. The sound design & seamless integration of the narration make you feel as though you are a part of the story, heightening the emotions and intensifying the impact of every scene. It's as if you are right there, witnessing every moment, every whispered confession, & every breathtaking encounter. The production quality elevates the overall experience, making it truly mind-blowing and memorable. In conclusion, His Pretty Little Queen is an absolute masterpiece that surpasses all expectations.Shane & Sofia's spectacular performances, coupled with Nicci's exceptional storytelling, make this remarkable tale of love & sacrifice an unforgettable experience, with performances that will leave an indelible mark on your heart, mind and soul long after the final words are spoken. KUDOS again Nicci, cast & production crew!!------------------------His Pretty Little Queen was an outstanding follow-up to "His Pretty Little Burden." This Hot As f*** Australian Dark Mafia romance delves deeper into the complex relationship between Clay Butcher, the powerful Crime Boss and Don of the Cosa Nostra and Mayor of the District, and his endearing Sweet heroine Fawn Harlow. The story picks up where the last one left off, with Clay still protecting and guiding Fawn. Despite their age difference and the fact that Fawn is the daughter of Clay's enemy, their love for each other only grows stronger. The tension and suspense in this book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't put it down.Nicci has done an excellent job of creating complex and multi-dimensional characters, and Fawn is no exception. She's not just a helpless victim, but rather a strong and determined young woman who knows what she wants. We also get to go deeper into what makes Clay, Clay – we get an insight into his past, and through his love for Fawn, Clay develops a greater connection with his family. What really sets Nicci’s writing and this Age-Gap romance apart from all others is the differences in the language used by both these characters and clearly shows their age difference, but also their difference in upbringings - Clay is the man of the world, who grew up in a boarding school abroad and Fawn is quite naive but together they are so perfect – he is her Dominant Sir and she is his Good Girl.Clay has never felt love before and when this once closed powerful and scary AsF Mafia Don, opens up to his little Queen, it’s truly a swoonfest and will take your breath away – needless to say Clay Butcher is my forever BookBF and there was never any doubt because I’m all about the dominant Anti-Hero.The steamy romance scenes between Fawn and Clay are sizzling hot and extremely spicy with whole lot of kink and their love story is epic and heart-warming.Overall, "His Pretty Little Queen" is an excellent addition to The Kids of The District series, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a dark mafia crime fiction and romance with a perfect blend of suspense, drama, and romance, and it has a happily ever after that will leave you feeling satisfied.
