After hauling around and wrestling with large 20lb tanks for years, this small tank is a dream to transport and still provides enough capacity for convenient short term use for all my needs. We were ecstatic to find this tank on desertcart as these little guys are not commonplace, they are hard to find in stores. We are RVers and we have a travel size grill that we take along with us. We had been using the small green propane tanks (16 oz) that you can buy in the store, however, they do not last long and it gets to be costly having to buy them all the time. On the flip side, we prefer not to lug around a large propane tank either as it takes up too much room when traveling, not to mention they are larger than our grill. We decided to search for the miniature version of the large tanks as it’s the perfect solution for a travel grill or any other equipment you may be using (lanterns, etc) and takes up very little room. The tank has proven its mettle, it works awesome. Designed exactly like the large ones, they are a mirror image (see pictures). It cost a whole $2.50 to fill it at our local warehouse store, didn't exactly break the bank (may cost more at other places). Talk about a cost savings especially compared to the green tanks in the store that cost $10 for a 2-pack. It does come with a gas gauge which is great as we can track usage. I can’t say enough about this tank, it is truly an outstanding product. We definitely won’t hesitate to purchase again. As far as I’m concerned the price is worth the convenience. It is quite small, so it fits into small places. It’s perfect for my grill and fire pit. I’m always a bit leery tipping it onto its side. You might contact the manufacturer. **Q: Does anyone make a stabilizing base for this size tank (to prevent tipping during transport)?** A: I have never tried to find one. I always just pack it in between my gear and it stays in place nicely. **Q: What's the width of the top?** A: The handle on the top around the valve is the same as a standard 20# propane cylinder (6 3/4" diameter) . The tank itself is about 8 to 8 1/2 inches in diameter (harder to measure that). **Q: Is this ready for filling up propane?
