REally great phone, and so simple to set up!
When we recently had to give up our beloved emailer phone, as it interferred with our new broadband. I didn't think I would ever get another, that would do what I wanted. In that, one button, and I can contact my husband. But I have, and to see his number/photo, flash red when he rings, I know its from him! SO easy to set up. In fact within mins, I had 21 numbers in the phone book. As well as numbers behind the 6 photo buttons. It lights up, when anyone calls, and I can easily see who is calling.I will certainly tell an elderly neighbour about this phone. Because if only the 6 photo buttons, that would allow her to dial, and not have to keep putting the numbers in. A welcome new phone, that actually does what it says-so rare nowadays! A White (Mrs)Update-Late Aug 2014 -this phone and all but one of the photo buttons failed to work. Then over last weekend, it completely out of the blue, started to take a long time to connect a call-24 seconds or more. At times the phone didn't ring, and this happened after we had answered a call. Only the yellow led light above the careen flashing,. I wouldn't have known it had rang. We had to fiddle with all the leads, and check all were secure. Sometimes it solved the problem. Sometimes it took much longer. As the phone is only 6 months old. This shouldn't have happened. I contacted Geemarc direct, and within a 24hour period they replied, and gave replacement. Because I love the phone, and do want to continue using it. As it was faulty, I didn't feel I should have to pay to return a faulty item? Contacted Amazon, who have already send out the replacement, and all I have to do is, place the faulty phone in this box, print out a returns label! So firstly, well done to Geemarc for their understanding manner, and not questioning and asking unnecessary questions. Well done Amazon too, for making this return simple. because my illness prevents me doing so much. Yet Amazon took this on board, as did Geemarc too, and made a frustrated customer- (frustrated at this becoming faulty) a very happy one! Thank you all. A White (Mrs)

SIX Picture Buttons - easy to use for those with memory problems
This is a corded phone which can sit on a table top or be wall mounted. It takes its power via a small mains plug (which includes a transformer). KEY FEATURES ============= SIX PICTURE BUTTONS. The six picture buttons are easy to use for those who have not advanced far along the dementia path: To make a call using a picture button the steps are: 1) Press the picture button 2) Lift the handset. That's it. step 1) and step 2) can be in reverse order, and it still works. At the end of the call, replace the handset. A variant on step 2) is : Press the speaker phone button... and at the end of the call press the speaker phone button again. Using the handset is familiar and intuitive; some users will not grasp the speakerphone variant readily. It is easy to take the tops of the picture buttons off to insert the pictures required. The pictures must be precisely 2.5 cm high and 2 cm wide. If they are a fraction too big, the key tops do not sit correctly, when placed back. If they are slightly too small the pictures move around. The time taken to digitally crop some pictures to nearly the right size and then print them and then trim them to exactly the right size may take longer than you bargain for. It is well worth the effort if your loved one then finds it easy to use the picture buttons. Replacing the key tops is easy. BATTERY BACKUP This phone has a battery backup, which helps retain the numbers in the event that it is unplugged for some hours. (Many very recent designs of phones retain numbers for a short period, even without batteries, but may not do so for longish periods). Phones such as these have a habit of unplugging themselves while nobody is looking, and the once unplugged that status may not be detected for some time. So I consider the battery back up to be a useful feature. PHONE BOOK The phone also allows up to 50 numbers to be stored. Each number may be up to 22 digits long. Each name associated with such a number many be up to 16 character long. The phone book may be useful for those whose memory has not deteriorated much. CALLER ID This phone supports the Caller ID function. If you subscribe to the Caller ID option on your landline then you will have three key benefits: 1) When a person, who is recorded in the phone book, calls their name will appear on the text display 2) When a person, who is recorded as a photo button user calls, their photo button will flash 3) The phone displays 'Private' for any callers who withhold their phone number (I think that some phone companies have an option for not letting any withheld numbers be passed through at all i.e. the phone does not ring for them - this helps reduce the risk of phone scams) The phone maintains a log of the last 50 calls. This may be useful. VOLUME Volume is an important consideration for the elderly. This phone has several feature which support the hard of hearing. USER MANUAL You can download the user manual for the Photophone 300 (see below) from the Geemarc website. CUSTOMER SERVICE I found Geemarc customer service (phone number on web site) to be very helpful. SETTING UP THE PHONE The instructions are pretty good but they are not perfect. NIGGLES Some users have complained that some of the keys stick sometimes. I have yet to see this. ALTERNATIVES This phone is almost identical to the Geemmarc Photophone 300 (grey rather than white) and the 300 has a wider choice of ringtones including several polyphonic ones. There are several other phones with picture buttons available. Some have fewer buttons. A few have more. Some models are cordless. Some have battery backup. Prices vary; you may find it worth shopping around a little.

Many excellent features - can use on the side or wall ...
Read lots of reviews before I choose this one. Bought for an older person. Many excellent features - can use on the side or wall mounted. Very good volume control options - can set different ringtones. Can use with hearing aid. Likely to need assistance to set up - but the option to programme numbers into the buttons with pictures is the best feature - allows them to call quickly in an emergency to key people. Can programme in addition numbers upto 50. The phone also has battery back up so if the main goes off all the numbers are not all lost - which is important if you are not on hand to keep adding them back again. Great phone - thanks

Brilliant Phone with Amplified Voice Control, Caller ID & More
This is a brilliant phone for when we do not always want to use our iPhones. Amplified volume control ensures the whole family can sit in comfort and listen to phone conversations without having to use hand piece. Very handy lit up screen shows Caller ID recognition plus handy Picture Buttons for easy access to VIP call outs. Many other handy uses included. A good sized white phone with large press buttons. Would buy again.

Geemarc are aware these do not work correctly.
I ordered this item on the basis that the 'photo button' lights up upon an incoming call from the number saved in that location. The first phone that was delivered did not perform that function, despite confirmation from the manual that it should. I requested a replacement from Amazon. The second phone had exactly the same problem. I called Geemarc Technical Support. The helpful chap I spoke to told me he was a\ware of the problem, and that 'faulty software' had been loaded to the phones at manufacture. I was told there was no way the photo buttons would ever illuminate. He advised me not to order a replacement as they would 'all have the same problem'! He advised I buy a different phone. I took his advice. I am amazed that Geemarc are prepared to supply phones to Amazon (and not recall them) knowing that they do not work correctly.

Older model much better.
New model is not a patch on earlier model. Feels lightweight and flimsy. Calls takes ages to connect.

Great for elderly people. Would recommend
Got this phone for my very elderly auntie who needed something easy to use. She is also pretty much deaf And need to phone she could hear but also pre-programmed Numbers which can be saved in the phone. She especially likes how she can see who is calling her and the numbers are big enough to press and the volume is loud enough for her to. Great for elderly people. Easy to set up.Would recommend
