A great adaptive pen
I first bought one of these when I had carpal tunnel syndrome, and it helped quite a bit, as I had to write a lot for work back when I first found this pen (I think it was 2006?) I could write without actually gripping the pen AT ALL. The weight of my index (or middle) finger and a gentle cradling of the pen with thumb and next finger to the right were enough to guide the pen. It's nearly 20 years later and alas, the plastic on the first one degraded into some sort of tacky goo (which honestly is much longer than any other plastic pen I've ever had), so I bought a new one, which was immediately coopted by my neurospicy daughter who ends up with hand cramps when she rights for more than a few minutes. This pen is such an awesome product for so many reasons. It's fun to write with, it's a conversation starter and it doesn't make my now arthritic hands hurt from trying to grip the pen. That's a win-win-win for me.

Excelent pen! Easy to hold if you have shakey hands!
Purchased these for my grandmother. She has trouble writing after going through chemotherapy last year. These fit well in her hand and improve her handwriting. They also are more comfortable for her to hold. I tried to use them and they take a few minutes of getting used to, but then are fairly easy to use for extended periods of time.

very comfortable...but packaging...
This pen is very comfortable to use with arthritic fingers..it is soft and takes very little pressure to work easily. I appreciate the unique design!I would hope however, the company would recognize that the need for this item is likely for a customer that may also have some difficulty opening the package. It is not only difficult to get to the product with scissors but to be cautious not to expose or loose the extra ink barrels supplied on the side of the packaging.

Comfortable but ink doesn’t come out half the time
It’s very comfortable for my hands because I have EDS. It’s very soft and easy to hold. When it works, it works great. But half the time, no ink comes out. It’s very frustrating.

Deducted One Star for Packaging
Love the pen; despise the packaging. If you buy this for a frail, elderly, arthritic or pain-ridden loved one, take it out of the packaging before you present the gift. Also advise practicing with one of these before giving it so that you can empathize with and support a loved one as he or she becomes accustomed to using your thoughtful gift!Worth every penny after the break-in period, and you will love using it yourself for thank you notes, invitations, labels, journaling, and Christmas or holiday cards or letters.
