Did the trick!
I was testing a new camera when it auto-rewound the roll into the canister/cassette. With film being so expensive these days, this was a justified purchase and it worked to perfection. Took a few tries, but I got it.

It worked until it didn't
It worked almost perfectly until one day it just didn't after barely two months of use and trying for hours on separate occasions. The plastic tongues that come in contact with the film leader had started to show scratches as a sign of intense wear. I'm not sure if that's what's causing the tongues not to catch the film as you pull it out.

Follow the instructions and it takes you to your leader
This plastic little device was not impressive to look at when un-packaging. But it works! I recovered a film leader after following the printed directions, which are quite clearly written and illustrated. In a minute I had the leader.

Film extraction
Easy way to get your used film out of the container once it has been exposed and wound back in. I get the film tab out prior to putting the container into a darkbag, prior to transferring it to the developing container.

Reasonable
Works well. The tongues could be a little firmer

Well-impressive should’ve bought one years ago
Managed to break a film when putting into Camera and then stupidly wound it fully back into the cassette, so thought I would try one of these before throwing the film away like I would’ve done years ago. Should’ve bought one years ago! Read the instructions, watch the video and unbelievably On the second try pulled the film out without any problems at all so absolutely Great piece of kit for the money

It didn't work
It looked like someone else had been using it before I tried. It didn't grab on to the film despite nearly an hour of trying. It's a very cheaply made plastic that I had to reassemble twice with one of the sliders coming apart. I really wouldn't waste your money. I sent it back the same day.
