do i need to wax after painting

Hi I waxed a couple of projects. One by brush and other by roller. The effect disappointed me in that the colour changed and was a bit streaky. I did our bedroom furniture and have not waxed it but have glass on the surfaces. Personally it looks better unwaged.

I am getting very patchy finish after waxing . I have used both cloth and wax brush but get same resut , dark patches . Is this right ?

I waxed using a soft cloth, and I was worried too because it seemed very patchy even after drying time, but after few hours more the patches were gone and the finish was quite uniform. Wait for longer and see. Otherwise you might try with second waxing?

I got exactly the same problem and tried lacquer which is even worse. Ended up repainting and leaving untreated. Won't use it again and use eggshell instead. The number of paint coats is I think irrelevant. You could try very light sand to both paint and wax finishes. Stewart
