Faber-Castell 1.4 mm Super-Polymer Pencil Lead

Not much more to say really, other than that this product is almost entirely useless. These leads are very thick, and use up very slowly indeed. My E-motion pencil shipped with one fitted and two reserves, and I still haven't run through the first after nearly a year of casual (at least a few lines a day, and at east a dozen or two of A4 pages of notes) use. Perhaps someone who makes a living shading in swimming pools with a pencil by hand will get through this whole pack, but a mere mortal man might well die before he makes it halfway. My point basically is that you don't need to buy this when you buy a 1.4 mm pencil, because you might well be in the ground before you make it through the lead they ship the pencil with. This doesn't, of course, detract from the quality and innovation of the product though, so kudos to F-C.

I have used propelling pencils for years but my wife has preferred to use fountain pens for making notes. Sometimes, recently, when writing in a hurry, she has found it difficult to position the nib correctly. She does not like ball points or roller balls as the points are too fine, which makes subsequent reading difficult. So, after experimenting with some old ordinary pencils, we decided to look for a propelling pencil which had a decently wide lead of sufficient softness for ease of reading and writing and which had a clip so that it could be attached to her notepad. Only one could be found - the Faber-Castell - so we ordered it. Instead of having to wait for a week or so for delivery, as advised, both the pencil and leads, arrived by post two days later. The pencil is excellent in every way. It has a comfortable grip and the built in eraser works well, even though the lead is a BB. Thoroughly recommended.

Faber Castell leads are always of a high quality and these are no different. The service from the provider was fast and efficient.

Upon purchasing this product, I understood the packaging to contain six units, each with six 1.4 mm B leads (totaling 36 leads). However, this was inaccurate; the packaging contained fewer leads than advertised, rendering the product description misleading and the price point unjustified.

Good price for these leads and fit my pencil great. Not sure why they came in a different jiffy bag and I had to pay postage.

These refills are the larger, stronger, type needed for the Faber Castell E-Motion pencil, perhaps one of the more expensive mechanical pencils ever, but certainly the best. I have two of them. One in black wood finish, the other cherry. This review is about the lead refills, not about the pencil, but if there was no pencil....no need to review the refills, which would not exist. Long story made short: This is the only refill designed for the best pencil ever. Got the pencil, then order these. For some reason, many of the stores that sell the E-Motion pencils to not carry the refills.
