I have not yet used them, but straight out of the box they look top quality! They are a good weight and razor sharp with strong hardwood handles fitted with steel collars The selected sizes alow for cutting and cleaning out even the finest mortises. They look 5star value for money, but I can't comment on performance or how long they will last or keep their edge etc. But as you can see. " I like mine "

Love these chisels. Work well

As my projects have been mounting up, I thought it about time to invest in proper mortice chisels rather than the cheap imitations from screwfix and B&Q. I have not been disappointed with this set, excellent quality and no impact to the handles even after heavy use they hardly look used, definitely no splitting. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The service was good and the chisels arrived in undamaged packaging (Just a cardboard box), would be nice if the producers included a storage box and point protectors but as these were not advertised in the product description I have no complaints at all.

This is a nice set of chisels and the quality seems to be very good. The only problem is that they needed significant work to get them into shape. They arrived ground at about 27 degrees and the actual bevel was slightly hollow ground. Still, about an hour on each of the chisels to correct the angle to 25 degrees (the steel is very hard so this took a while) with a micro bevel; the actual angle is a matter of personal preference and some people like a 30-35 degree angle instead. Can I highly recommend the Veritas Mark 2 Honing Guide as a good way of facilitating this Veritas Deluxe Mk.II Honing Guide Set Chisel & Plane Sharpening set, - various options are available, but this link is to the full kit. You don't need to buy the mortise chisel adapter as these chisels, just, fit into the standard holder). Now they are sharp, they are very good and have taken the edge well; I expect many years service (although I will make a wooden box for them to keep them in good nick). Recommended

Brilliant chisels for mortise, it was sharp just out of box, but a little work on 10000 grit stone, make them extremely rasor sharp. Top tools for the money.

Great brand; really solid chisels. Needed write a bit of work to get sharp before first use but that was expected. Very happy with the purchase.

I am an amateur woodworker. I bought these to make mortises in some 4x4 timbers that would become my workbench. While my work isn't stellar (okay, it's all a bit crooked), these performed exceptionally. Nice, clean cuts with easily controlled precision. A very satisfying experience. I was able to cut 4 mortises in about an hour, and I was taking my time. The tools look nice and are evidently well-made. They feel nice in the hand and take a good strike very well. If you've never used a cheap chisel before, there is a very unpleasant sensation in both hands when a mallet strikes a bunch of cheap wood and metal. It's like striking a stone with a shovel. These absorb a modest blow and drive straight. I did have to sharpen it somewhat quickly after the first use (I used right out of the box as they seemed plenty sharp to me), but once I honed it, it kept the edge for a surprising time. My only complaint is that there was no storage included, but that's mostly because I haven't fashioned a way to store them yet. I suppose if they'd included a bag or roll for them, once I had a place to store them I'd get rid of whatever they sent anyway, so who cares. An excellent value that immediately upped my workshop capabilities.
