And with HDMI, this is a bargain for under £90! *by G***. on 25 December 2014* My GL2250 next day via City Link. A star there for not using Yodel!The screen was bought as a replacement for my iiyama which had some problems turning on.The Monitor comes with a 3pin power cord (kettle type), a stand, Quick-setup guide, Warrantee information and a driver/manual CD. The CD Manual explains options in more detail than the printed guide. The driver isn't needed on Windows 7 as a quick check with windows update downloaded the latest version and installed them effortlessly.The monitor is extremely bright and I had no hesitation of turn the brightness down to 30%.Colours render well and subtle detail is more prominent than the iiyama it replacted.Black isn't a true black, probably due to use of a backlight. It is a very very dark grey would be more accurate description. However it isn't noticable in every day use, and I haven't yet experimented with colour calibration.The box and amazon state that the response time is 2MS, but really it is 5ms and 2ms grey-to-grey. I really don't notice any difference.Talking of pixels, I've not been able to detect any dead ones - another plus!This is definitely a great monitor and you would be hard-pressed to find one as good as this for less than £90.Do bare in mind, that if you don't already have one, you will need to buy the appropriate cable to connect to your computer as the monitor only comes with an old style VGA cable.Update-Since My initial review, the monitor started to flicker after a few hours of warming up. Amazon replaced it following day. The replacement monitor was better, but missing pixels were noticeable, making the screen not suitable for photo editing. Amazon refused a replacement and instead offered me a refund. I bought a 3rd monitor, pixels seem good, but there is a noticeable pin-cushion effect on the screen, particularly at the top where it doesn't quite sit square with the outer frame.Have a feeling this one is also going to be returned - bad batch maybe? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Masterfully Crafted Mid-Spec Monitor, Especially for the Price! *by L***D on 19 May 2016* Firstly, this is an AMAZING monitor, and even greater accounting for the undercutting price!However, before purchasing a monitor, consider what you need via these specs:A lot of variables go into a monitor, mainly:• What screen size do you want?• What resolution do you want on this screen?• How often do you want this screen to refresh?Then you consider the other details:• Does it look nice aesthetically?• Does it have the inputs I require?• Is the actual monitor image good?If you are unsure on the first 3, make sure you figure out what you want and make the choice based on that, not the other way around.However, if you are looking for a 60Hz, 1080p, 24" monitor, then this BenQ GL2460HM is amazing, especially for the price!Monitors of this spec usually sell for around £150+, so this monitor was slightly undercutting the standard price. However, there seems to be absolutely no cuts to image quality anywhere, and I have all the inputs I need (namely HDMI, headphone/microphone jack and DVI).The image quality is very good, and with a 1ms response time, the perfect mid-spec gaming monitor! Considering a 144Hz largre monitor may be almost twice the price, this is very good value for money!I highly recommend this to any casual gamer seeking a good gaming experience, although seek 144Hz+ if you are looking to play seriously.[I have done my best to provide preview pictures, although technically this is an impossible task!] ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good basic monitor, with ok but quiet speakers *by J***R on 15 November 2014* Good quality screen, no dead pixels, but very bright - you'll probably want to turn the brightness down or select "Eco" mode. I got the 21.5 inch screen, the aspect is wide screen, almost like two monitors side by side, so you need to be about 1 metre away from the screen otherwise you'll be turning your head left and right. Many people will find the 21 inch monitor a little small and will prefer to pay the extra cost for the 23 inch, the screen height is about the same as my old 17 inch square monitor (1280x1024 resolution) - but is much wider, takes a little getting used to if you're switching from a square aspect screen. I'll keep this but my next moinitor will probably be 1900x1200 rather than x1080, and at least 23 inch. Speakers are not very loud (without distortion), not really suitable for movies, ok for casual gaming and youtube videos - note that if you connect via HDMI you must ensure HDMI audio is selected in the menu (and select PC Audio if you connect via line-in cable from the pc line out) - I could make the audio work with just the hdmi cable, so I think people complaining that is doesn't work aren't choosing the right setting in the audio menu.
