Biona Organic Date Syrup, 3 x 350g

I use date syrup every day on my porridge and it tastes lovely and is not as sweet as normal syrup. It's completely natural and therefore good for you, and for your digestion (as long as you don't use too much). I put the equivalent of about half a teaspoon on my porridge every morning, together with fresh fruit. The pack of 3 is good value, much cheaper than buying them singly in health food shops.

I like this date syrup above others I've tried. It has an almost 'treacle' flavour and it's very smooth in consistency. It makes a good alternative to Maple (which to be fair is also very good) but if your after a deeper flavour than date syrup will give that. I use it instead of refined sugar on most things such as porridge and in recipes that benefit from a little sweetness.

I ordered this biona organic date syrup because i have a habit of buying natural dates because i have a sweet tooth when it comes to them (just dates- not other sweet food). So i decided to order the pack of three. When it arrived, i opened it straight away and tried it in some milk and coffee to see how it would taste. This really does taste really good. The only thing is i actually miss munching on the real thing as this is just a liquid, but apart from that i can say that this is a fantastic product and im glad it exists. i havent yet tried it on pancakes or other desserts, just beverages. ive still got one left to finish off.

I have been cooking more & more with South & West Asian ingredients, were this has a lovely rich sweet flavour that pairs perfectly with the cuisines of the region. It can also suit some of richer dishes of Southern Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia if you don’t have any Palm Sugar to hand. It is a little too strong for the more delicate dishes of Central & Northern Thailand though.

Currently trying to wean myself off agave and have found after about a week, the date syrup is an acceptable substitute. It is not as sweet as agave or coconut nectar but is smooth and gives a slightly 'burnt' sugar flavour to tea. Am now a fan and see an agave-free future! Biona always produces highly quality and this product is no exception. Arrived on time, appropriately packaged.

The contents taste ok, but in the space of mere weeks, all 3 have exploded in my cupboard, covering everything!One had been opened but the others were supposedly sealed, so overall it's a poor quality item.These have been a complete waste of time and money.
