Toenail Clippers for Thick Nail Recommend

Holy toenails Batman, this clipper is sharp!! Make sure you are paying attention or you may cut yourself. The curve took me a few to get used to but now that I get it, I love it. It’s perfect for gel/acrylic nails. Because they’re so sharp, I can trim my gels without splitting the polish. The grip is great, comfortable and secure. They really put a lot of thought into the design, every cut is accurate and where you want it. excellent quality, excellent value.

I bought these clippers to use on one of my elderly dogs who has tough nails that tend to curl into the pads of his feet. Traditional dog nail clippers don't work on him. These new clippers worked great. I was really impressed. They are easy to grasp, sharp, and I can trim his curled nails easily. I should have bought these years ago and saved myself a lot of frustration.

Updated: The replacement pair is holding up and cutting well. It is backed by a company that stands behind its product, as such I have raised my rating to reflect that. Original Review: My initial impression of this was positive; for the angle and sharpness of the blade was good. It nearly got thru one foot, but when it got to the thickest, big toe nail one of the handles snapped off near the pivot point where the metal is thinnest. I was actually using very little pressure when it snapped, so perhaps the other cuts weakened it. The break is sharp and exposes what I would describe as "pot metal" (i.e. low quality). I requested a replacement from Amazon to see if the replacement is any better, though I don't have high hopes. Once that arrives I will use it for a month (if it lasts that long), and return to update this review should that one fair better.

This is a great nail clipper, especially for folks with arthritis, and/or with hard, or twisted nails. The oversized handles are infinitely better than those traditional, silver slippery ones -- again, especially if you have arthritis or your nails are difficult to trim. What's great about the angled ones is the narrow corner of the blades are great for getting into the corners of your nails. NOTE: As shown, the clippers come in two types: flat ended (perpendicular) or angled. I specifically ordered flat ended ones but angled clippers were delivered. Rather than return them, I thought, "maybe it would be nice to see what works best." Having the wrong ones delivered (the angled ones), I ordered the flat ones again. Guess what got delivered? Ya, the angled ones again. Rather than return them, I will give to family living nearby ONLY because they are great clippers. Normally, I insist on venders getting it right but this time I'm going to let it ride. I do recommend these clippers but would bet large you're going to get angled ones!

My dog's toenails grow close to the paw pad. Most clippers have a bulky end on the shears blade part of the clippers and does not squeeze in between the pad and the nail for an easy quick trim of each nail. These clippers come to a very sharp point, with careful wrestling and holding his paw still and pulling the pad back a little, these clippers were so easy to get between the pad and the nail, lots of room to clip the nail at just the right place. I've been cutting my own dogs nails through generations of dogs and these are the best dog nail clipper I have ever used. Be careful, they are super sharp and work super well. Trent
