Easy, basic snack. Value product. I’m not terribly picky, I like trying new things and these aren’t bad! I ate a box in 2 weeks by myself.

These tamales are kinda bland, with a heavy emphasis on the masa and little emphasis on the pork filling. They do have a good porky flavor. I eat them for breakfast once in a while, but tweak them a tad by adding crumbled bacon and a poached or fried egg with some salsa. Muy sabroso!

I received these a week earlier than expected. I wanted so much to order the Sweet Masa (Corn) and Sweet Plum because they are low in sodium and most suited for the Dash Diet. But the supplier had no inventory. So I ordered the Red and found these tamales very satisfying in flavor. They capture the flavor found in the steamed dough of homemade tamales steamed while the texture is denser because of packaging. It's a good value offered with price points much more budget friendly than its the competitor. This product as concept is excellent for a very healthy, super quick meal whereby the tamale is heated for a few seconds, topped with high fiber black beans, and served with avocado slices on the side. The combination of corn and beans always results in a complete protein. I plan to order again and again throughout the year as I have trust in both La Costena as a food manufacturer and this supplier seems also trustworthy and eager to offer best value pricing.

I really wanted these to be good for a quick "at the desk" snack, but it's lacking. Spicy, yes! It's just cornmeal and spices. No discernable pork flavor I noted, and no filling whatsoever. . They wont go to waste. I'll probably break them up onto a bowl of Wolf's Chili (no beans) now and then. Disappointed, but worth the try.

First off lets talk about walking tamales beand. You get 7 for .2 ounces more per pouch and they cost $30 a box. They also have zero meat in them. Yeah no I'll just buy these once a week take two with me to work and make my weekly lunch a $15 weekly expense. I tried the green walking tamale which I always put hkt sauce on because they were super plain. These are spicy and again have meat in them making them more filling even though they have slightly less mass. These are superior and I'm buying 2 more boxes after this review posts.

The other ones are probably good, but the red tamale taste like it was soaking the battery acid. That’s got way too much jalapeño in it. You might as well just go chew on plain jalapeños. After the second bite, can’t taste anything anymore.

I was a little bit hesitant to try a tamale that wasn't the usual meat in masa with a corn husk. These are almost as good as home made! Great taste, more pork than I expected and so convenient to eat. Absolutely love them.

Definitely have a spice. Not a bad little snack.
