How many cartridges does it come with, and it says for use with the blue cartridge, im assuming putting a black cartridge in there will do no harm?

Well this may not be relavent but although the pen only comes with one cartridge,as a Registrar I have to use a special ink.So I purchased a converter to allow me to use the ink. I have used many fountain pens in my time,all of which cost three times or more than this,but I must say this is the best pen I have ever had.So maybe you might consider purchasing a converter and a bottle of ink and step back in time as well as use less plastic...you will not be sorry. The Z28 converter was previously the Z24, and is suitable or all fountain models of the LAMY AL-star, LAMY joy, LAMY nexx, LAMY nexx M, LAMY safari and LAMY vista range.

It can come in a carton package. I also can wrap it as a gift if you want...
