Does this product pull the wooden casement window tight against the frame as this would eliminate draughts if so ?

No, not really. The lock works purely by screwing hex nut into a corresponding hole parallel to the window frame. If the window itself is loose, it will probably stay loose. The only way it could possibly pull the window tight is if the screw and hole are slightly offset and at an angle which seems a little unfeasible. I wouldn't risk it though.

Can these locks be fitted onto upvc windows, keys have been lost for original window locks but we need locks to comply with our household insurance.

Elaine I bought these locks for wooden framed windows,but they do locks for upvc windows.

Great quality and really easy to fit

These are great quality although a little expensive for what they are. You will be surprised with how much security that they add after installation - the windows feel so much more secure. They come packaged very well so there is little waste - instructions are simple and will take you no longer than 10 mins per window. I didn't bother chiseling the striker plate into the window as I have lovely oak windows and did not want to start carving pieces out of it. Overall, a decent product.
