Very Cute book, But Quite Small Size to Take Note
Very cute book arrived quick enough in great conditions (bought as new). Bought this for my boyfriend's birthday who really enjoys trying out lots of different whiskeys and thought it would be a cute journey to keep tags in and few notes. It is for sure a great present booster and very thoughtful thing to give some if they enjoy trying different things out, gives lots of tips on what's similar to other things, with bit of history to it.Boyfriend is history geek and whiskey connoisseur so he enjoyed all aspects of it.

Good whisky reference book
Bought at a very reasonable £4 at a point when I'm developing an active interest in single malt whiskies. This book also covers bourbon, rye whiskies as well as those from overseas. I like the format but the decision was taken by the author not to include tasting notes; you'll either appreciate that or not. Either way an inexpensive purchase and a nice addition to other reference books. Recommended buy.

Really good snapshot of accessible whiskies
This is a clearly presented list of whiskies to try. The selection covers a huge range from classic Scottish single malts to American Rye to Japanese new wave. You are bound to find a good few suggestions for any taste or reasonable budget. It is not a list of the best whiskies in the world, or the most expensive. Just good or interesting whiskies to try.At £5, it is well worth the money and gives you a fun way to broaden your experience. My only tiny quibble is that some of the entries focus too much on the distilleries and their histories rather than describing the drink in more detail.Grab a copy and have some fun.

Great read
Written by a real expert (his biog at the back of the book) and a history and description of 101 whiskies (includes blended). In alphabetical order, this is not 101 best whiskies but 101 whiskies being suggested as worthy of being brought to your attention. I've been trying different brands since being reborn 2 years ago as a whisky drinker after 40 years of abstinence, and hardly any of the bottles I've tried have made it into this list! My experience has been variable - finding some that are favourites and some I will give a miss to.Each whisky is described by its nose and its taste - from what I can tell, Ian is avoiding the heavily peat-smokey ones (which I find too overpowering) so I may be using this each time I consider a new purchase. Anyway, you don't have to take this seriously - it's a treasure read for the aficionado and will make an ideal stocking filler if you know someone like that. I paid £4 for my copy and it's a bargain.

Good buy
I bought this for my son who is a whiskey fan. He liked it a lot. Each page has whiskey and information, picture and if you have tasted it. Tick list I’d say. Good compact book on his book shelve.
