Maxim Vengerov: Living the Dream

I got this for my mom for her birthday and she was really pleased! It gives you a alternate, more in depth view of his life. Not really a performance DVD but an entertaining look at what how Mr. Vengerov lives inside and outside the concert hall. A must-buy for classical enthusiasts! I hope he comes to LA again!

Everyone who plays violin or love violin should buy this DVD. It is very excelent to know how humble this best violinist in the world is. I wish there will be many Mr. Vengerov' DVDs in the future. As watching him played always thrill me and inspired me to practise more and to love music more deeply. Good luck, Mr Vengerov !!!!

This is an excellent DVD about Vengerov. It makes me feel inspired and happy whenever I watch it, he is such a wonderful soul with amazing talent in interpreting music.

What a beautiful film. Vengerov is the master violinist of our times, but sadly has been missing from the performing scene for a while due to injury. This film reminds us what we have lost.

Maxim Vengerov DVD Living the Dream. As an ex violinist this DVD is enchanting and I shall watch it again and again

I watched this DVD with a group of tango dancers in Cape Town, South Africa, and I was transported. It is a wonderful story of the lead up to Maxim's sabatical - after working for 35 years to get to his level of playing, he needed a break. This sabatical includes a trip back to his beloved Siberia where he grew up and he performs again at the concert hall where he played as a very young boy. He then travels to Israel, France and Holland to work on a new performance that streches him into playing the electric violin and dancing the tango. It is a mesmorising story and filled with sensitive violin playing and wonderful music. I have watched it many times and shown it as an after-dinner treat to friends and everyone has been spellbound and teary eyed at the end of it. Wonderful wonderful! Highly recommended.

Maxim Vengerov se montre au sommet, d'une virtuosité à la précision époustouflante. Un large éxtrait d'un concert, des interviews, sa mère, sa première professeure, ses amis, son travail et ses projets. Il nous donne à voir sa personne, l'immensité de son âme de musicien unique.

DVD très court, peu de jeu , on le voit en train de jouer trop peu de temps et trop de temps par contre passé avec le spectacle de Vengerov danseur de tango

DVD très intéressant sur une tranche de vie de Vergerov tenant du documentaire. A revoir avec plaisir plusieurs fois seul ou à partager avec des amis mélomanes.
