The straw comes out easily for cleaning. It’s a little difficult for our 3 year old to pop up the flip straw piece by herself. It is sturdily made. The slender bottom of the cup doesn’t quite fit in her car seat cup holder. She loves being able to carry it around with her, using the handle. This cup kept her water cold during a long car trip we took. We only fill it half way to keep the ice and water from being too heavy for her.
