Great starter kit
We are using these kits in our STEM guitar class. Great item for our students to begin their guitar building experience.

Overall a very quality product
So I've purchased several different guitars from several different different companies, & this one has by far been the best quality body. I bought 3 in total, & the first 2 were amazing the 3rd one I bought because... well I bought 2 because I wanted a project that I could bond over with my brother, then I thought I should involve dad, & we could all have an awesome time building guitars together. My dad's came in last & when we got together to .ock the. Up before paint... his was missing some screws & the neck was super warped. Not a big deal really. Anyhow they were super simple to build they came with easy to follow I structiins which none that I ever bought before did. The string were very lightweight was cool... it was a fun day for us so far, now if I can get the neck thing resolved.. I'll be super happy!

Missing parts Christmas morning and pre-drilled holes too large
My son got this guitar as hisain present Christmas morning, the thing he's been asking for and was most excited for. But because the company missed some parts (the two string retainers) he's going to be sitting watching his siblings play with their gifts. All the head-related parts came in a separate bag, and everything was kept in the bag until we needed them. When we couldn't find the string retainers we spread the remaining contents of the bag on a table, and STILL couldn't find them. Then we emptied the sparse contents of the other bags out, just in case. Nothing. What a bummer. The tiny holes intended for some of the tiny screws on the head were also drilled out too large, so the screws never really caught any wood and would just keep turning, but I was able to make that work well enough. Missing necessary parts is a deal breaker.

It’s the journey, not the destination
You can get the same quality from a factory built, off-brand guitar for $100 more or from a name-brand company for another $100 on top of that. Given the time it took to finish and assemble this kit, I’d say the value proposition isn’t great. However, it’s the opportunity to build and custom-finish your own guitar that makes this worthwhile.Playability and neck — 12” radius, C-carve and fairly thin, so more of a modern than vintage feel. The back of the semi-gloss neck felt great and needed no work. Out of the box, there were several frets had high spots, and the ends were dressed about as well as most sub-$500 guitars. Some sanding and filing helped a lot. After my setup, relief was 0.007 and action around 4/64” on the bass side and 3/64” on the treble side.Hardware — also typical of sub-$500 guitars. Tuners tend to be wonky on cheap guitars, but these are…ok. Cheap, half-sized trem block as is typical at this price point. Economy selector switch and mini pots, which I suspect will need replacement eventually. The ceramic pick ups were quite good, with clarity and chime (and sufficient quack in positions 2 & 4). I’m in no rush to replace them.Assembly — While you could build this with hand tools, a drill/driver for installation and a jigsaw to shape the headstock really made life easier. The challenging part for me was installing the trem claw, given the bad angle and tight space (Leo Fender’s fault) and a mis-positioned pilot hole for one of the screws (Asmuse’s fault). While no soldering is required, I did solder the bridge ground wire to the trem claw as per usual Fender spec. The neck/pocket joint was admirably tight.Finishing — As supplied, the three piece body is sanded and sealed enough that you could forego further finishing if you don’t mind a few rough spots, the bare-wood aesthetic, and a boat paddle headstock. I wanted something unique, so I did a once-over with 400-grit paper, rattle-canned a base coat of all-in-one paint+primer, and then gilded the body and head-stock with metal leaf. This was covered with numerous coats of water-based polyurethane. Final weight was 7.4 lbs.

Great guitar!
I liked a lot this product! I had no trouble putting all the parts together, didn’t take mw more than an hour. Besides being easy to assemble it has a great sound and I like it’s original color. It is a quality material that is definitely worth your money!
