This brilliantine smells lovely and is not overpowering floral. Only use a tiny amount on your hair, you can always add a bit more if needed. Add too much in one go and your hair will look greasy. Once you have worked out the right amount for your hair, it will hold your style all day.

This is a nice little gem that helps me control my frizzy hair on humid days and give an extra strength to my going out hairstyles.It helps me when I straighten my hair and want to put the little flyaways tucked away.The scent is a bit old fashioned in the pot but you don’t notice it once it’s on the hair.It looks great in the vanity too.

Love the smell and texture

I use a liquid brilliantine as I don't like the matting or stickiness of the various waxes / clays etc.I wanted a solid one that could travel, without major mishaps in the luggage that can happen with bottles and liquids.This Yardley Brilliantine is in a glass jar and has a soft 'jelly' texture. It is easy to spread on your hands and then through your hair.It holds quite well, gives a nice shine and smells okay.

Bought this for my dad who has used this for ages

Great control, fantastic smell (of lavender). I find it holds my hair gently and better than any of the mystery goo marketed by big names, promising wet look, dry look, firm hold, gentle hold and pull the babes.One does not, ever, "pull babes". This product enables me to create a frisson of desire between myself and sparkling, intelligent women of all ages over 25. Rather good.

Works great, smells great, not too light or too sticky... This is the gold standard.
