This will work.
Bought this to replace another old Silva (similar design) from which the liquid had long since evaporated. I'm sure this is just as good. Eventually I will buy a compass that will outlive me. Hope this isn't the one.... Still, it's what I wanted and what I chose. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Good usable compass
We promised our grandsons some activities in map reading and navigation. I hope they have as much fun with the activities as we are having designing them. This compass is nicely made and not a cheap plastic toy. In an age when everyone has a G P S, I still think the kids should learn to read maps. This knowledge has been invaluable in our out of country travels!

Christmas gift for a new Cub Scout and family camper. Seems pleased with the opportunity to learn how to use this compass.

Filled with air bubbles
Worked fine for a few months, but I took it on an airplane for a hiking trip and it got air bubble inside and now no longer works at all.

Great compass for the price.
Bezel ring is a little sticky so shooting an azimuth fast is tricky. But a great compass for the price! I'm buying more as inexpensive backups and loaners.
