Universal Roof Hook for single & extension Ladders

Good price on a decent product, albeit probably more diy use when needed than for every day professional use. The roof hook fit my requirement for using my existing aluminum ladders to do some diy painting of dormer roof windows. The hooks are box section aluminum, light but strong. They are easly fitted when needed and removed when not. The u-clamps and bolts supplied as part of the kit make for secure attachment to the ladder.

Lightweight, easy to fit. Wheels allow easy rolling into place and hooks over well for a reassuringly stable cat ladder. Bolts to install are secured with nylock nuts and a total of 12 are required. This and the fact that there is thread left over for most ladders as it has to cater for larger runged ladders means that there is a lot of nut tightening to be done to set up and then to remove afterwards. This and the fact that those bolts then protrude upwards towards the climber, which is not ideal, means that it loses half a star if I could, but not at all bad and works well.

I like this item, it's not expensive but provides a measure of safety whilst working on a roof. Two comments I have, one is that the plastic wheels are a bit hard but I've replaced them with rubber ones. The only other thing is the fixing bolts project up and catch on clothing but I've attached some plastic sleeving. Minor comments but I've found the item to be very useful and I've certainly felt a lot safer working on the roof cleaning moss off the tiles.

This is just the right thing to access the roof and chimney projects. It is adjustable so will fit all size ladders and also feels sturdy when climbing the ladder. It does not add too much weight to the ladders so is easily moved up and down the roof. Perfect for fixed aplication to dedicated ladder or on a when you need it basis. Easy to remove and assemble.

Finally got around to using this. Does what it is supposed to do. Fitted it to a 7.6m+ Werner double extension ladder and it rolls nicely up the roof. When flipped over it safely secures the ladder in place. Just what I needed to carry out some repairs to the roof. The fixing nuts have nylon threads that safely secure the hooks to the ladder. Comes with a pictorial instruction sheet that was pretty much self explanatory. Can be removed after if you so desire.

At £21.95 this is the cheapest I have found. It is made in the UK and very well engineered. All of the parts are accurately sized and fit together perfectly. Of course it's a bit of a faff if you need to fit and remove regularly - but great if you can fit to a 'spare' set of ladders. It is not at all difficult to work out how to fit the hook - anyone who can't work it out should consider whether they are skilled enough to go up there! Good delivery, good price, good kit....happy days.. Update - just spotted the exact same one @£20 all in (fulfilled by Amazon). Still not complaining though for what I paid.

I am very pleased with this product so much safer going up the roof with the hook attached. Don't know why we didn't have one before! The U- bolts are fairly long that secure the hook to the rungs of the ladder , so that varying sizes of rung can be catered for, I guess our rungs were smaller so it took some time to fit on so we have decided to leave the hook on the ladder for use of use again rather than remove them each time. In use they are very secure and safe , delivery was prompt and secure.

I don't have room to store roof ladders as well as my regular ladders and don't have constant need for roof ladders so thought these would be a great alternative and they are but, and its quite a big but, they take quite a long time to put together, the bolts are too long so you cannot use a socket set to tighten them up, you have to use a manual spanner. Other than the time it takes to put them together, they serve their purpose well.
