You could make your own bokashi with rice or wheat bran. Only then you would need to add em-1. What you did is activated em-1. It does contain a small amount of compost in it to raise it's NPK so that it could be used as a fertilizer as well. Very impressed with the microbial activity. I have tried other brands such as Bokashi Living as well as the Bokashi from BLH Farm called Mo-kashi bokashi and neither one has had the microbial activity like this TeraGanix. I use it for gardening and it has not disappointed. I did take it out of the original bag and poured the Bokashi into 1 gallon freezer bags. I mix it in with my soil as well as top dress with it. Highly recommend this brand.
