No, it’s mostly made of Dead Sea creature shells. See a copy of the Wikipedia entry below.

read that it contains traces of lead? is this true

Yes but there are things that can kill you in everything ie cyanide in almonds, arsenic in apple seeds, its the clay that contains a miniscule amount of lead (the food or pharmaceutical grade version source anyway, hopefully this company uses food/pharmaceutical grade) you'd have to have this powder in vasts amounts for it to do damage, i think there are higher sources of lead found in other areas of our lives ie tap water, some decorating paints etc, also im pretty sure the clay holds on to toxins and heavy metal so i dont think the lead would even leech out from the clay, this is fromMy own knowledge and research, i use this tooth powder occasionally

Ingredients list doesn't contain turmeric or magnesium but they  are listed in the product info?
