AMAZING LITTLE GEM!!!
AMAZING!! I've looked for a small but efficient dehumidifier for a very long time now for our small double bedroom. I've been through many brands, none of which could ever do the job of actually extracting enough moisture from the air to eradicate our growing issue of mould. Especially now that we've a baby on the way, it was more important than ever! We've a 7 bedroom house, and our 20L MEACO dehumidifier does a great job on the landing (necessary for the size) however, this has purely amazed me! It's perfect for the side of a double bedroom (small/medium sized) although upon arrival it was much more smaller than I had expected (as per previous reviews), but I trusted the reviews in comparison to the million others I'd looked through (and bought)! In only one night, it had surely extracted 250ml of water and for the first time, NO CONDENSATION on the windows!! It's been working beautifully ever since!! A BONUS; its extremely compact size and black colour and design (I especially love the blue light when switched on) makes it look really modern and contemporary! Only only downside is the noise, considering it's size, not too loud but loud in comparison to other 500ml dehumidifiers! However, it's obviously working very well to draw in moisture from the air, so I don't mind it at all (I actually sleep through it and the blue light is also a nice little glow at night)!! Don't hesitate to buy!!

Excellent little dehumidifier
Excellent little dehumidifier, which appears to be working well, and without too much noise. We use it in the "Crafty House", which was our summer house till the "Boss" took it over for her crafty work! The reason I mention this is that we wanted a dehumidifier that would not dry out the air too much so as to cause problems with some of the craft work, but that would at the same time keep the humidity under control in this wooden building. We have three much larger dehumidifiers in the house which would be too drying in the "Crafty House", and these all work on the same principle as the Duronic, so we know this works well. I would love to have given the Duronic five stars but it has one annoying design flaw - to empty the tank you have to turn the tank up side down and jiggle the water out through the inlet hole at the top. Why didn't the designers make the black top removable so that emptying could be a doddle (like our larger ones in doors)?

Solved our damp problem perfectly
We bought an old terrace house with an extension and the box room at the back of the extension (was previously a bathroom) suffered from damp (clearly hidden from us by the sellers). This box room was big enough for a single bed and a wardrobe but not much more (to give you an idea of size). It was home to our little boy so once we found condensation and mould build up in the corner of his room we were quite concerned for his health. We didn't have money at the time to pay for any repairs or fixes to the actual problem (needed some ventilation bricks putting in amongst a few other fixes) so we thought a dehumidifier would do the trick temporarily. Having seen the prices of so called high quality recommended units we thought we may as well hold off and just put that money towards repairing the issue. Instead we bought this little compact unit and put it on a shelf in the most affected area of the room. The device was quiet and didn't disturb our son or prevent him from sleeping in anyway. It was left on day and night 24/7 without any fear of breaking or causing any kind of electrical fire (you hear horror stories about cheap electronics). It never felt like it was running hot and showed no signs of the motor slowing down through over use. It also had little or no impact on our electricity bills due to its low power consumption. The tank is sizeable and would fill up to max capacity about once a week. Suffice to say it worked so effectively that no condensation build up ever appeared on the walls again (or the accompanying mould build up). All moisture was being collected by the device and it meant paying for more expensive repairs to the house itself could wait until we'd finished renovating other areas of the house. Highly recommended

It is a slow process but this is dealing with aftermath of a bad leak into my apartment
After a leak from the flat above mine I ordered this to help clear the resulting dampness from my bathroom. Ordered early evening, was here next morning, simple to set up right from box, take out the wrapping, plug it in, ready to go. Has been working away for last week now slowly reducing the dampness in the room which suffered the leak. Compact and very quiet so I am able to leave it working through the night without disturbing my sleep. It is a slow process but this is dealing with aftermath of a bad leak into my apartment, not just the usual moisture that builds up in a home, so that is to be expected, and I think the actual design on this compact unit is for the slow but steady approach, which seems to be working fine as it has taken out quite a bit of moisture already. Think this will also be handy after the dampness from the leak is sorted, should be handy for winter months when it is too cold to leave the windows open, so should be a handy purchase over and above the emergency I bought it for

initially I was rather satisfied with this little thing
Well, initially I was rather satisfied with this little thing, I remember the first time I switched it on, after a couple of hours I could actually "feel" the difference in the air quality, it was very "clear". We have it on in our (smallish) kitchen every day for about 12 hours, and it does help with the condensation. It did not stop condensation altogether, but it helps. (side note: our house is very old, very damp, nothing can be done about it, so I didn't expected this dehumidifier to magically solve all our problems) There was no significant increase regarding our electricity bill. However, I was surprised to see the price... I bought it when it was on sale (ยฃ 25), and that's really what I would recommend to everybody, wait until it's on sale again, because it's not worth the full price. It's good quality, but certainly not worth ยฃ50...

Sent back.
Reviewing after returning actually. I wouldnt really recommend to anyone at all. It may be small and cheap, but it'll only suck out about 200mls of water in 24 hours. And that's in a small apartment, with 2 people in IRELAND where air humidity is like 80%+ all the time.. A little too loud to sleep in the room it's in. Returned after a few short months of use because the fan started rattling like a a rake being dragged on concrete. (Fan seems to have disconnected from the metal arm that holds it) Do yourself a favour and get one of the hugely more powerful (but more expensive) dehumidifiers that you turn on for 2 hours and it sucks out 1 litre of water.

Small. stylish....and it works!
I live in an old, cold stone house with a really bad mould problem. I did not want a large, obtrusive dehumidifier so ordered 2 of these on the basis of other reviews. Because they are black, they are not particularly noticeable and are small enough to fit anywhere. My son put one in his bedroom and it immediately started to fill with water, I put the other one in my dressing room, which has rather a musty smell and is definitely damp. I was amazed how much water the item collected (I had it on overnight) and the condensation on the windows and musty smell had disappeared by the following morning. I would say that the item really works well. My dressing room is not large (approximately 9 feet by 9 feet) but my son's bedroom is much bigger (approximately 18 feet long) and the item seems to work just as efficiently in that room. I shall buy more for other rooms. I'm not sure about the cost, as I have only had the items for just over a week, but would think that the electricity cost may outweigh the damage to the house caused by damp and mould. I may revise my opinion once I've received the next electricity bill! A good feature is that the water level is really easy to see and the water container removes easily for emptying. I would definitely recommend this item.

Impressed with it, easy as pie to get going
Excellent little gizmo; not expensive - comes in very basic packaging, plug it in - switch it on, and it works. We've got bit of a damp patch in our youngest daughter's bedroom that's been needing attention - this has been an effective, low cost solution. I was amazed it had worked (at all) - it had collected a good 50/60ml over night - it's compact, light weight - not durable, but it's a little boss. Impressed.
