A wonderful burst of saltiness for Margaritas
I don’t use a massive amount of salt in cooking but do use it in some cocktails so I bought a box of Maldon Sea Salt rather than a larger tub.This salt has an excellent flaked texture and is great for creating a salt rim on a glass for cocktails such as a Margarita or Paloma. Using salt in this way means that you actually taste the salt on the glass before it mixes with the drink.You then get that great contrast of tequila, citrus and salt which is what these drinks are all about. Maldon Sea Salt seems very suited to being used in this way with its wonderful salty taste being a key component of the drink.This salt is also easily crumbled between thumb and finger to make a slightly finer powder. Half a pinch added to shaken drinks can also enhance the flavour of cocktails.Maldon Sea Salt keeps well in a plastic container and is the perfect salt for my drinks. Very good indeed!

We add it to are water or we take it neat , only small amount it needed , helps keep you hydrated also. We also add this to are foods when cooking x - better then Celtic salt

Salty!! Great value.
Definitely the most flavoursome salt we've had. And great value for money in such a big tub. My wife loves it so much she'll dip her finger into it and eat it on its own.!!

Good item poor packaging
It’s salt - good amount and had several times = 5* but 4* this time as it wasn’t well packed and lid was cracked. A couple of tbsp in the box and one on my floor on opening box. Not enough to send back but only way to give packaging feedback. Don’t be dissuaded from buying - good VFM as long as not too much spilled into box en route….;-)

Excellent salt.
If you are a novice cook one way of instantly improving the quality of your food is by using a good salt. This one is my favorites. The flakes can be powdered between your fingers and having this tub in the store cupboard is a good way of ensuring you save money and don't run out.

However, in medical parlance organic and inorganic are descriptors of symptoms both biological in origin, but to doctors are treated very differently. Organic to a beef farmer has a different definition to that of a wheat farmer and of course the soil associations definition would outrage home gardener. Cooks / Chefs would disagree on the defintion used by Marketing Consultants and then there is the general public and their expectations. \n\nHowever you personally define \"organic\" is very subjective."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Is there much difference between this and Himalayan pink rock salt?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"I think so, it’s made from sea salt and not rock which is much lighter. It isn’t overly salty which I know sounds stupid! It seasons without having to grind. Grinding with fingertips is fine. Try the small box to see if it suits you first?"}},{"@type":"Question","name":"How can you say it is organic when you cannot control or know what goes into the sea?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Hi David,This question was sent to me by Amazon as a customer who may be able to help with other customer's questions. I am not connected to the company who make the salt, so if you want to ask them a question they do have an email address on their website to contact them at Maldon. Google them and you will find their website easily. It is worth knowing that organic can mean 'prepared without chemicals' it does not necessarily mean what you are inferring about the sea. For example all soil has some contaminants in it and that cannot be avoided sue to various things like pollution, however the soil association gives the title of organic if the grower/producer does not ADD any chemicals in the production, so sea salt being organic is perfectly valid. You could also check out the Soil Association website if you have concerns about organic foods. Hope that Helps."}}]}]}
