Great sound and comfort at a bargain basement price
I bought these after reading reviews of them and other Koss products. These are great headphones that are among the best I've used for a long time. Sound: Quite simply excellent, and for the price I have not heard better. The range of tone is brilliant, giving strong and clear bass without sounding muddy. Treble coming through bright and rich without any tinniness. This sound quality is something lacking on any other lightweight headphones I've used. Even when turned down to a low volume the sound is still bright and healthy. I'm no audiophile, but I've been seriously impressed by these headphones Comfort: On the ear type, foam covered earpieces. Nice and light with a secure fit. They can be worn as either over the head or behind due to the movable adjustable headband. As a sports style headphone they hold themselves on the head firmly, so no bother when you're getting a bit active. Construction: Seems good, I can't find anything in them that looks like a weak point. They can be curled up, folded in, and clipped together for stowing away. With a lifetime guarantee too, who's going to grumble about that. Look: Lets be honest now... there are more stylish options out there. But as I can't see them when they're on my head I don't mind much. Extras: 1\4" jack plug adapter and a stash bag. Overall: For less than £20, I have been really pleased. Strongly recommended.

Light weight with good sound - great for workouts.
I purchased these after doing research on headphones suitable for sports and workouts, particulary running. My ear buds were not suitable for long runs as they would often shift in my ear and eventually fall out. This became especially bad as soon as I started sweating. I wanted headphones that would stay in place and were lightweight, and with decent sound. After doing 2, one hour long runs with these, I can happily give them top marks. They can be worn with the strap behind your head, or on top of your head, with equal comfort. This is because they are very light, and because the strap exerts some pressure to keep the ear pads on your ears. They stayed in place throughout the runs (thread the cable through the neck of your shirt and you won't even notice it is there!). Even though the foam pads do get wet once you start sweating, you really don't notice is as you are obviously wet first. They dry out quickly and seem to be holding up fine. As I am using these exclusively for sport, I was not looking for the best sounding headphones. That being said, these absolutely kill the sound out of the ipod ear buds I was using previously. The difference in the bass is significant, so you will have much better sound quality with these than standard ear buds. Are there better sounding headphones out there? Probably. But these do sound really good even if just chilling out listening to music at home. Finally, throw in the carrying case, the Koss lifetime guarantee (which I hope to never use, but have heard rave reviews about), and the low price, and you have a 5 star product!

Better than photo looks
I like them, cant remember them costing as much last year, but they are well made and comfortable to wear , sound good too. They have a fold back feature which i like. I think they look better than the picture and darker. I would have them again at the right price, which rates them as a good buy, mind your hair, it can get caught at the to Sound good, worth a try, a bit different. Lasted over a year so far, so stronger than they look. Now, where did i put them.

Perfect for the casual listener
So I've had these headphones only a couple of days but I can confidently say that they are the best pair I've owned! Sound quality - The bass and treble response are second to none. The mid-range is a bit lacking, but that's hard to notice for a non-audiophile like me. If you just want a pair of headphones for cheap, the clarity and quality delivered by these will definitely not disappoint Comfort - I've found that the neck-phone configuration isn't the most stable, at least on my head and the two fobs that support the band on your temples do exert an unwanted pressure that makes them slightly uncomfortable but not so much that you couldn't listen for at least 3-4 hours at a stretch. So on the basis of sound quality, price and the slight downsides of the stability of the alternate configuration and mild annoyance of those supporting fobs, I rate these as 4 stars and would definitely recommend it to anyone who was looking for a really good set of headphones... EDIT: Used them for a bout 4 months now, and I have to say they still impress! I adjusted the equalizers on my playback devices and the clarity is even better now... Even when travelling on the noisy underground in London, there's still enough sound quality to keep you happy and they're comfortable over a very long period of time once you get used to them. Fantastic buy, highly recommended...

Good sound but quality issues let them down.
I bought these for the gym and was surprised how good they were. They look and feel cheap and flimsy, but they are tougher than they look, However there are issue with their comfort. The major selling point is their excellent quality of sound for the price. Ok if your are going to wear them in private and for short periods of time. A limited recommendation. Pros Sound: The sound quality is fantastic for the price giving a balanced presentation that is sibilant free at the top end, clear and open in the mid-range giving good detail and impressive bass depth and weight. In fact having listened to many sources I would say that they are capable of giving a good account on reasonable quality DAB and CD or even uncompressed digital formats. The problem is that they are good enough to show the limitations of MP3, which means that even through an iPod touch playing higher data rate MP3 they can sound dynamically limited and lack drive to the music, so high energy music lovers may be disappointed. Price: good value for money. Small and pack away Cable: no microphone effect from the cable that is of good length with a integrated 3.5mm jack. Also comes with a converter Cons Look cheap and flimsy: but are more robust than they look. Not very stylish. Comfort issues: would not say that they are uncomfortable all the time, but you may find yourself fiddling with them occasionally. I have worn them for two hours and found myself fiddling with them and I was most certainly aware that I was wearing headphones. Main problems are the head band that can gently press on the top of the head, especially for those with thinning hair and the pads above the speakers than can press on parts of the ear. Sound leakage: unfortunately open backed headphones have a much better chance of producing higher sound quality than equivalent priced closed cup models. Therefore the compromise for this sound quality is that they do leak sound and are not appropriate for public areas, noisy gyms are ok.

Had them 7 years and still going strong and sounding great.
I purchased my pair in 2010 and it is now 2017 - they really have stood the test of time.. These are superb headphones originally bought for use in the gym, but now used for listening to music anywhere with my smart phone. They give a good balance of sound, whilst being light and unobtrusive. Good bass and no shrill trebly sounds - as I say a good balance.. Now in 2017 I find the foam pads have finally worn out so I have ordered some replacements. Hopefully I'll get another seven years of enjoyment out of them. I paid £17.99 back in 2010 and note that they are now nearly £31 - wow what an increase. I think they are worth the money.

These are awesome, incredible value for sound quality but cheap build quality
EDIT: i have bought 3 of these and all have had the jack break at 6-12 months (i.e. you only hear sound out of one ear unless you wiggle the wire).. three stars revived.. Positives: These are awesome, incredible value for sound quality and build quality. - Compared to my sennheiser px100, i prefer these for the clean mids (amazing for vocal, classical and jazz) and cosy balanced bass (even for dub), although maybe the tops are sharper on the px100, and the fold away design better. - Compared to my Grado s80's the mid range holds up but the grado's are more comfortable both physically and acoustical (but are poorly made and fall apart easily). - Compared to my sennheiser HD25 (i.e. a closed not open design), the bass and treble is lacking, and they are far less efficient (i.e. less volume at same setting). But I don't like using the HD25 for pleasure as sustained music is fatiguing on the ear as they are too much like a reference monitor. - These headphones are 6 months old, used everyday at work & commuting, and are still working . The design means you can change how you want to wear them (normal or back) making them comfortable and flexible (with big hair or hats). NEGATIVES: - The bag they come with is a little small. - Open design not for everyone - leaks sound, sounds best at low volumes, does not isolate outside sounds. - Treble lacking - early 90's design not for everyone =================== *Note these are open headphones and so produce a 'in the room' sound rather than a 'in your face'. For kids This design is good as they encourage low volume for full balanced sound, as well as leaking sound if played too load, warning parents. =================== Two years later still using them everyday.. When the foam broke, I bought better pads for them, that improved sound, made them more comfortable and look less pants: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Replacement-Cushion-Porta-KSC35-Headphone-Black/dp/B00SWGQFIA/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1526453937&sr=1-3&keywords=koss+portapro+pads

Excellent
I bought these a few years ago now, and I've used them a lot. I listen in my car using my Android phone and the sound quality is really good. For some reason recently I decided to upgrade my headphones and ended up after a lot of research with Citiscape Downtowns (that I have also reviewed). Suffice to say I am now using these Sporta Pros again as I just love the sound they produce, and really disliked the sound output of the Downtowns. In theory the Downtowns should have been appreciably better, in practice the opposite is true- the Sporta's are much the better sounding. I keep these in the car, so they don't get bashed about. Nevertheless they are still in pristine condition - the build quality is better than it first appears. The thing I like most is that I can listen for hours on end with no fatigue or discomfort. If they broke I'd replace them in a heartbeat.

Perfect for Outdoor Running.
These headphone are great for jogging. The sound quality is superb for the price. The build quality is quite good as well. I was looking for a good headphone for running. I knew I didn't want in-ear monitors as they are very uncomfortable for me and I don't like the fact that with most models you can't hear your surroundings very well, which I believe is very important when you are running on a road. I also didn't want ear buds as the sound quality is very subpar. In fact, the bass response in ear buds are so bad that it forces you to turn up the volume to higher and the higher until the high frequencies end up damaging your hearing. The Koss SportaPro is an on-ear open headphone. This allows for you to hear your surroundings, while at the same time enjoy airy and dynamic music. Talking about sound quality, I am very impressed. These headphones sound well above their price range. If you were listening to Apple ear buds like I was before getting these, you will know what I mean when I say it's like getting a whole new set of ears. The bass is tight and accurate, but can get a little muddy when pushed to the limit. Where these cans shine is in the midrange. It is even, transparent, and dynamic. Unless you have had a great pair of speakers or headphones in the past you will be surprised at how many notes the Sportapros will dig up that you have never heard before when listening to your old favorite tracks. The highs aren't too shabby either. They hold their weight and were surprisingly clear and soft for this price bracket. The build quality of the SportaPro is solid while light weight, which makes for a very good exercise pair of headphones. They are built to last. The top band, believe it or not, is metal. There are also 2 metal clips that hold these cans together when you fold them up. They could have just put plastic clips on there, but Koss seems like they are serious about quality and went the extra mile on this one. The one caveat seems to be the cords that go into the drivers. They are very thin and have no bend protection. I'm not sure how well those cords would hold up if you got tangled and it got tugged or if bent the cord a certain way every time you folded them up. Overall, you truly can't beat these for the price. It's amazing what Koss has done with these to make them so affordable. I wasn't necessarily looking for great sound quality when getting a pair of exercise headphones. I just wanted something comfortable and sound quality that wouldn't necessarily make me want to throw up. Even after all the great reviews, I was surprised at the performance level of the SportaPros. These are an excellent buy.
