Same as the grate which came on a separate order. It's a false economy buying a cheaper 'lookilikey' versions as they are invariably thinner, possibly a bit smaller diameter wise and rust very easily. Weber is by far the best. More than happy. There are a number of inserts which sit in the space in the middle for cooking. I have used the center as a normal grill but have also used a pizza stone and another insert which is perfect for grilling vegetables or standing up fowl (using a can shaped center insert) for beer can chicken, etc. If you are referring to the hinged grate on the sides, they open and close easily but do not come off the grill entirely. **Q: I saw an accesory for barbecues where there is kind of long crate the goes in the middle of the charcoal grill and you can put water in it.?** A: No but they are two pieces that hold charcoal and can be separated. You could easily put a container of water between them and cook with indirect heat. Love this grill! **Q: Will this grill grate fit a stoke drum grill 22.5?.5** A: Hard to tell. This item has a diameter of 21.5". **Q: The original grate in my Weber Premium lasted 2 seasons then rusted. How long will this one last?** A: I believe it's stainless steel though I'm not 100% certain on that. I am certain that I've had mine for 4 years or so and it is rust free. I never clean mine immediately after use, only before the next use once the grill is up to temp. This helps to coat and protect the grate. You will enjoy the heavier gauge steel they use on this, it should last a very long time.
