Classic Fairy Tales Mini Library

My 22 month old loves the way he can hold and open on his own and thinks they're great to hold the mini-library cover and throw all the books on the floor - good job they're sturdy enough to hold up to this treatment. They're well used and well loved and I think they will be for some time to come. Cheap and cheerful and entertains his lordship so that's great.

The book itself is lovely. But it was clearly dropped somewhere wet before being packaged and was sent anyway. Corner of the book was damaged and wet and at least 1/4 of the pages were stuck together/damp/going grey.Lovely book, awful service from whoever dispatched it at Amazon.Had to ask for a refund and purchase again from a bookstore in my sons town 100 miles away.

Small books, perfect for little hands and you can easily use them for party bag fillers.

Very colourful and sturdy. I used them to sell at a summer fair. I knitted baby cardigans and put a book with each one

Had to prise the books apart and every single page apart too. Don’t understand why they’re all stuck together as they’re not sticky. Wouldn’t be a problem but pulled the colour off some parts of the books pulling them apart

Good little starter books, sturdy, hard cardboard type, good quality and colours. The stories are VERY VERY shortened versions of the proper stories, which upon reading the first time made me think, what the? But they are ok for little starter books for a quick short story to a baby or toddler or as a stocking filler or party bag item perhaps?

My daughter got one of these books in a party bag and as they are quite short they are perfect to share with a fidgety small child so I decided to buy the pack of books so I had some different one. I'm not sure that I would class all the books as 'classic' fairy tales and there are perhaps others I would have preferred to have been included but am happy nonetheless.

Right size for babies. Just the right amount of pages. My only thing is sinbads story, could have been swapped with another male originated story. I've had to tape the books up a few times but, that's not to bad as a first set of books. I would order again.

This is a beautifully illustrated and written book. I felt as if the fairy tales were written well without belittling the stories or unnecessarily simplifying them. Beyond being beautiful the illustrations portray heroines and heros broadly without them all being blonde and blue eyed. I have been reading this book to my children since they were about 3 or 4, have given it to new parents and recently haven it tobmy 10 year old niece who is reading it herself.

Fairy tales have been told since ages and would continue to amaze the adults and children alike. Some or all of the tales in this book you might have read or heard some or the other time. Still reading those again in this beautifully illustrated book would bring back your childhood memories. And for children, it would surely make them wander in the dreamy land. Apart from the marvelous illustrations, each page is lavishly decorated with colorful boarders on a high quality paper. Surely a nice addition to your treasury. Rs. 291 was an unbelievable deal for such kind of lavishly decorated book.The 12 stories included in this book are Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty in the Forest, Beauty and the Beast, Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel, Snow White, Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp, Little Red Riding Hood, The Fire Bird, Hansel and Gretel, The Frog Prince, The Wild Swan.This review is for Walker Illustrated Classics paperback edition (ISBN : 978-1406317459). However, don't compare it with other cheap paperbacks as the glossy pages of this book are of excellent quality and the cover is quite hard to last long.The same book in hardcover is available from Candlewick (ISBN : 978-0763642129) as well albeit with a higher price.Recommended age :Self Reading - 8+Read aloud to child - 6+

J'aime beaucoup les belles illustrations de ces contes classiques.La langue anglaise utilisée est simple et accessible.Ce beau livre a l'avantage de ne pas couter trop cher.

This is a perfect book for younger children who like fairy tales. The stories are well-written and perfect for a 10 minute bedtime read. What makes the book are Jane Ray's illustrations. It's not a book of "blonde/blue-eyed" princesses (and I have a blonde/blue-eyed daughter!), but people of all cultures. I've given this often as 5 or 6-year old birthday present.
