Mini 600 wifi - Great extenders for those wifi dark spots
It took me a long time to decide which brand / model to get for these, but in the end I went for the Mini 600... And they are as good as I hoped! The speed they relay is higher than most wifi gadgets can cope with and I now have great coverage all over the house and in the garden. I tried a wireless repeater before, but it killed my bandwidth to the point it just wasn't worth using. These though transmit the signal through the power cables of the house then send that via their own wifi, not sapping off the main wifi bandwidth. Pairing was easy and it repeats my original wifi signal so no extra wifi networks required to be setup. It just works at the press of a button and then move them to where you want them to live. Very good product! There are faster out there, but this is fast enough for pretty much anything you'll need to do, including HD netflix. If you want to do 4k streaming too, well then there is always the cabled option and thats plenty fast enough for that, but you'd probably be ok for 4K netflix even over the wifi (my 4k TV uses my main router which is very fast, so can't test). With two ethernet ports you're spoiled for choice too. Since it has the main hub and two separate extenders you really can spread these around. One downside is it wasn't compatible with my old BT powerline network, but that's no big deal, that thing was huge and slow compared to these little gems and worst case, I can always add a cheaper wired only additional hub to the network if I really wanted to.

Brilliant Brilliant Product - A Must Buy
I absolutely love this product. For a number of months, I've had visitors asking me how I get on with Wi-Fi connection in certain rooms of the house. Why I ask. Because sitting in the lounge and other areas the connection is poor and keeps dropping out, is the usual response. Most of my internet work is done in the study so I don't have a problem with poor connections. Anyway, I decided to buy the BT Mini Wi-Fi 600 Home Hotspot. It was very easy to setup. Plug one unit into the mains near to where the router is located and connect with the ethernet cable provided. Then plug the other unit into a free socket where Wi-Fi reception is poor - in my case the lounge - and wait for the two units to link. Two minutes later, Wi-Fi reception in the lounge was strong. I strongly recommend this product. My friends will never again be complaining about poor Wi-Fi reception in some areas of my house.....!!

Excellent product
It's very easy to set up. Plug in the base unit, plug in the two extenders, wait for them all to boot up, and you're done. The wi-fi password is printed on a handy wee card that slots into the extender units. It works well in my house - an old Victorian property with thick stone walls. I plugged one extender in the living room, one in the kitchen, and now I have a good wi-fi signal over the whole house - impossible using a single router. It's a good bit slower than my Virgin superhub - around 20 meg instead of 50 - but I think that's mainly because I'm plugging it into extension sockets, which the instructions tell you not to do. Four stars instead of five because I think the price - £80 at time of purchase - is a little steep. Especially considering the 500, which does the same job, is available in black for £30 cheaper.

At last I have internet in other rooms!!
When we moved house, the Belkin extender we had used for years, failed to work at all due to the thick walls and steel supports in the new house. I purchased this BT model, set it up in minutes, wired up my smart TV in the lounge and got a five bar (excellent) signal. Very pleased... until I tried the laptop in the lounge, wirelessly and although that worked great, five bars again...the TV connection failed. I found that I could have the laptop and TV both wireless, but not one wireless and one wired, even thought the instruction manual said it could be done. After switching around cables, reconnecting the TV etc, without success, I called the BT helpline. It took 20 minutes to get through, but the guy simply said to press the reset button on the hotspot, and hey-ho, it worked. Now I have the TV( wired) and the laptop (wireless) at the same time. Great and well worth the money, despite the little hiccup in setting it up.

Not up to the job and useless for HD streaming
Bought the BT AV600 to replace my D-Link DHP-306AV which sadly broke after 10+ years of service. I resisted TP-Link purposely as the 3 devices I had previous all broke within 3 months of service and had appalling range, I'm not going to be bitten again. Quite frankly, the BTAV600 does NOT do what it says on the tin, it will not reliably stream HD video, the results I got when streaming films and browsing the internet are given below using different picture qualities : * 1080p, forget it, stutters consistently every second * 720, Stutters consistently every few seconds at the start of the film and approx 1 minute or so thereafter pausing for long periods. * 480, No problem, but this is not HD quality * Youtube, stutters more often than not, but this will be determined by the quality of the clip. * General browsing without streaming, adequate but I find I have to wait noticeably for pages to load I installed a speed tester on the TV to find out what kind of speed I was getting and basically, it blips at 10Mbps and immediately levels out to 2Mbps and afterwards tells me the highest streamable quality achievable which fluctuates per test between 480 and 720. I'm pretty certain the speed is restricted purposely by the product for this model as our router and mains are well suited for quick streaming. Our Virgin router consistently achieves 100Mbps and rarely goes below 10Mbps on a bad day, the D-Link adaptor I had, had no problem at all streaming 1080p HD films which tells me its the BT product which is the bottleneck and isn't up to the job. Can't blame Wifi here as the TV is connected through an Ethernet cable. Installation: * WPS/Link : This worked great for about 30 seconds and then the Virgin Router (not the BT adaptor) disengages which means no connection, no idea why this happens but the end result means it's useless. * Normal method : Works without issue, select the BT Adaptor SSID that appears when searching for networks on your device and type in the wireless key when prompted and you're up and running, tell your device to connect automatically and then there is no effort required from that point on. * Power Save Mode : Beware that access isn't instant when the adaptor is coming out of power save mode, just wait a few seconds. before trying again. In Summary : * Easy to install * OK for browsing * Useless for streaming films over 480p (non HD) Sorely disappointed and I feel ripped off. The box should definitely not say it can stream HD quality films

BT means Blinking Terrific(some of the time)
Having had several Broadband speed upgrades over the past few years my Virgin Media speed is now 70 mbps but my Devolo AV200 set up was only giving me about 50/60 mbps, they were fine up to 50 mbps but that was their limit so it was time to upgrade to something faster. After a lot of research on the internet I decided to go for these from BT, fantastic results straight out of the box, my ground floor computer now is getting 73 mbps and the one upstairs is getting 71 mbps, Extremely easy to set up via Ethernet cables as a Powerline set up, marvellous bit of kit. Update 28th May 2016, This product is dropping the connection on a regular basis, at least once per day for no apparent reason, it's a real pain if you are in the middle of something important so it's not a five star rating now.

Good
This BT Home Hotspot 600 is used to operate WiFi apparatus in an upstairs room, where the signal was weak from downstairs router. The WiFi signal is nice and strong for mobile phone and tablet. The PC is wired in with an Ethernet cable, because the PC doesn't walk, and is close to the BT Home Hotspot. I would have preferred the BT Home Hotspot with a piggyback socket as well, but one wasn't available from Amazon, at the time I was looking. I wouldn't hesitate to get the same again.

Incredible change to my WIFI reception.
This product is excellent, it provided reliable WIFI connection in the parts of the house where previously signal was not strong. We have two stories of relatively new extension at the back of the original Victorian house structure. For some unknown reason (what are those original walls made from ????) even BT infinity was pretty patchy in extended part of the house. This product solved this issue - we plugged one on the ground floor and another on the second floor and reception is excellent everywhere now, including on the first floor, where there is no receiver. Allows speedy browsing and streaming with no issues. I also want to note that I plugged the "hotspot" device into an extension to the mains, rather than the mains as instructed due to location of our router, etc - we just don't have mains plug nearby. And it still works for us! Installation was so easy that you can't really call it "installation". Literally, plug in "hotspot" device, then receivers, give a couple of minutes for receivers start working and then connect from your device using the code provided on the card inserted in the receiver. So all in all, really love the product.
