Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox - Outdoor Playset for Toddlers - Safe & Portable - Encourages Creative Play

I have literally bought several HUNDREDS of toys but this is one of my top 5 summer toys for my kids. I wasn't able to take it out last summer due to it raining every single day 😒 but this year, it looks like we actually may have a summer and the kids were elated that they were able to play with it once again. Pros: Provides many hours of fun. Keeps kids entertained and out of my hair. My 8 year old still loves to play with it so you can get plenty of use out of it. Heck even I like to play around with the taps! 😆 Good quality product. Cleverly designed. Keeps kids off the tablet and gets them thinking about how things work. Fantastic summer toy that can be played by just one kid or shared with a few. Cons: Bit of an arse to put together but when set up it will stay up. Leaks water at the bottom for some reason. Taps are too tough for my 4 year old to turn on / off. Can only use in on warm days as kids inevitably get soaking wet. Bulky so storing it in my house is a bit of an issue in the colder months. Would I recommend it? Definitely! It's made summer so much more fun in my house! My kids absolutely love it and I get a lovely break!

Really well made, sturdy, great size - our 18 month old twins both sit in it and have lots of room to move and have toys. It’s really great. It has two built in seats too. Once it’s filled with sand (I used 3 big bags) you won’t be able to move it, so choose a place carefully. Bear in mind that if placed on a lawn, all the grass underneath it will die. I bought some green ‘bungee cords’ (the ones with hooks on each end) and use those to hold the cover in place when not in use to keep the sand dry. Otherwise it’s a very loose fit and will blow away with the wind. Beware, slugs love to crawl inside where they die in the sand. Every time we open it we have to scoop out 3 or 4 slugs before the children can go in it.

This little turtle box has been a welcome addition to our garden this year. Our two year old daughter has used it so much that if she never used it again we've still had our monies worth. Again like my other reviews this is an item that seems to vary greatly in price from £40 - £24, we bought it when down at £24. The quality appears strong and rigid, I originally wanted a wooden one as they looked 'posher' than these plastic monsters. However after lots of family and friends chucking their rotten and battered wooden frames away or complaining all the weeds come up through the ground mesh, I relented and bough this garish plastic one. So pleased I did, we are very happy. Don't buy your play sand from Amazon though, shocking high prices. The cheapest play sand is that big retailer famed for ordering through catalogue numbers then either home delivery or to your collection point please! Also discovered that play sand is so deliciously silky it lurks on patio slabs with the same evil thoughts as black ice!

I purchased this for my one year old who loves water...I thought this would be perfect! I bought at sale price and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. I think the sale price is about right. Pros: It's a great size Nice and colourful Fun design Nice and light to move (without water) Lots of bits to play with. Fits loads of children around nicely Easy drain plug. Can be used with or without water. Nice dry activity table for indoors if you don't have space in wet room or bathroom for example. (If using without water it's incredibly light...so you may need rubber matting to stop it slipping) Nice chunky and sturdy legs. Cons: The cannon tube does not reach the water to suck it up, to get it to reach the water will mean over flowing the ship. We had to buy a replacement tube. (Available in any aquatic pet store) The holes to flow the water onto the spinners are close enough, so to spin them you have to pour directly onto them yourself, making the pump tower kind of useless for that function. The squeeze and squirt shark didn't have a hole so we had to make one ourselves. In all it's a good toy for the sale price, at full price I'd be a bit disappointed at the diy you have to do to get all the items useable. It looks as though it will last through the elements outside if you don't have storage. The material seems robust and easy to clean. My son seems to like it so far. You need an electric screwdriver as the holes for the legs are not pre made. assembly is quite simple with the right tools.

During the hot weather I bought this for my 2 dogs to cool down. Wow best thing I’ve bought them. Great that the lid or turtle back comes off and keeps it covered. My neighbours little girl was in and out of the pool too having a great time. I can see how excellent it would be as a sand pit too for kids. But during our heatwave it was a god send for the dogs keeping them lovely and cool. So worth every penny for this item. I clean it out easily every few days or so as it gets grubby with the dogs and then the water goes on the garden. Only don’t do what I did last time and that is tip it up to empty the water out as the weight cracked the base open. Use a jug to empty into a bucket and then water your plants or into the drain. Definitely a Best Buy of the year item.

This is a good value toy - we got a far better price on Amazon than elsewhere. Both our 4 year old and particularly our 2 year old love it - they spend ages making up stories involving the little pirate characters (and a large number of other plastic toys usually get brought in for a swim too...) and playing with pouring water about with the cups. I'd highly recommend it for kids who are water-obsessed like ours. The build quality is decent and it's easy to put together, the only issue may be having enough space to store it as although the mast can be taken down the legs are screwed on and not removable once in place - so make sure you have somewhere to keep it as it's quite large. My only other niggle with the design is that the cannon unclips from it's snap-in position a bit too easily and the hose on the cannon is too short (could be replaced - it's just a piece of clear plastic tube), which means unless the table is full to the brim you can't really use it in-situ. This part could have been better thought out. Other than that it seems to be robust enough for average use, and we've used it a lot with no visible wear and tear to any of it so far. We haven't left it outside to store though so I can't speak for it's durability against a good old British summer. Note that once you've filled up it it's very hard to move without two people (e.g. if you want to relocate it from outdoors to in when it rains) and even then you'll probably spill some, and that you have to reach underneath to pull the plug out as the plug secures from the bottom upwards which means that if you want to empty it into a bucket you'll have to lift it at the same time which usually leads to spillage...

As a Childminder, and having wanted one of these for ages but being too expensive I decided to go for a used one and I couldn't be more delighted. The box was damaged with only superficial marks and scuffs, the table was untouched. Putting it all together was really easy except for the legs where holes will need to be drilled or punched to allow the screws to secure the legs properly. My children are absolutely delighted with it and will play with it, even when its too cold to put water in it just with the accessories and their imagination. Because of the shape of it, children can play around it, with a least one of the action toys to play with so was no arguments where they stood... lots of extras, little figures, boat, shark, plank to walk... everything a budding pirate (ive got three) would need... cant wait to get it in the garden in the spring to use the water cannon. It was also taller than the picture suggest.

As a childminder, I purchased this item as sand-play is arguably one of the top 5 'musts' for fun, learning and development in early years. Initially I thought 'oh no, more plastic!' but after borrowing a friend's Little Tikes bouncy castle recently, I knew their products are tough and well made/designed. I have not been disappointed with this one. The pit holds plenty of sand, and this week legs have been buried, giving the authentic beach experience. There was enough comfortable space for a 5 and a 3 year old, and when the 1 yr old toddler joined there was a still a cosy - not cramped - feel about the play going on. Seats on the edge are a good idea, and serve the intended purpose. Yes, lid is a touch light and design could go a bit further to include clips of some description, but windy weather simply means that something will be put on top in the general tidying up process. HOWEVER, the best feature for me is that this sandpit allows water can practically be added into the mix! Sand and water go together like bread and butter - they are meant for each other. On our patio, water has been added to make rivers, moats, tides going in and tides going out, rock pools, mud pies and body covering. In no way could I imagine this going on with other sandpits on the Amazon list that only have an internal groundsheet or wood that needs to be treated annually (sorry, don't have time for that!). OK, water has to be drained away manually with cups and small containers, but hey - even I got carried away watching the sand and water making rivers and mini-lakes as I worked out how to fill each container-full with water... Very relaxing! Damp sand can then be dried off by leaving the lid off during the day (not the night due to cats etc). I have recommended this sandpit to parents I work with, and I recommend it to Amazon purchasers. Great value for money.

Valves are too tight .. The whole unit moves when you want to operate. So I am salvaging it by cutting of the handle after agjusting it.

My 17 month old son loves this! Has been playing with it constantly. Loves it with water, but still Enjoys it with only the toys and no water. It is very sturdy ( he actually has climbed in it and sat in there)! The little toys, pirates, shark, boats and strainer cups are a bonus. Highly recommend! Note my husband used a drill to set it up and felt it would be harder to assemble without.

Fantastisch leuk speel apparaat voor m'n dochter van 2 en zitten veel opties op waardoor ze er vele jaren mee kan spelen. Ik miste wel een klein schroefje en sommige onderdelen ben ik benieuwd hoelang dat mee gaat maar we zullen het zien daarom 4 sterren.zeer tevreden met de aankoop.
