I’m always super paranoid whenever she grabs the edge of the door and starts pulling or pushing it around, because at her age, closing the door on her fingers can easily lead to a pretty bad injury.So I started my Amazon search for a product to help reduce my anxiety and prevent this kind of injury, and there seems to be quite a few different products. The Door Monkey appears to be a popular choice, but there are 2 things I really didn’t like about it: (1) the aesthetics and (2) having to remove the product whenever you want to close the door. So when I came across Pinky, the claimed features met my checklist of requirements.Overall, it works really well. I like the subtle design that blends in with my doors, and I really like that I don’t have to remove it whenever I want to close the door. It also has this interesting automatic mechanism, where if you retract it to a certain position and close the door, the next time you open the door it springs back out so you don’t have to remember to reset it. It’s a little hard to describe, but I have to say it’s pretty nifty.The only con I can think of was the written instructions.
