This bin is elegant and so practical. It is sturdy and has a very nice opening action. Fingerprints are non existent and where there have been some spills or drips, it cleans up perfectly. We have to use sacks for our recycled items and have more of this than the household waste bin, so we have the plastic bin for household, using the bags by Simplehuman and place a cherry sack in the other compartment for recycled waste. Having read reviews of this product, I note that other people say the bags, while being a bit more expensive than supermarket liners, are well worth the money and to be able to place the replenishment in the bin itself, reduces the need to store in a drawer. I have purchased more of these liners and am so glad I did.

Why I Bought It My kitchen was getting cluttered with separate bins for trash and recycling, and I wanted something efficient that would let me sort waste without having multiple separate containers taking up space. The simplehuman CW2025 promised a dual-compartment solution, a strong pedal, and a clean stainless finish, exactly what I was looking for. Setup / First Impressions It arrived fully assembled, which was great — no instructions or time lost putting pieces together. The stainless steel has a brushed finish with a fingerprint-proof coating, which keeps it looking tidy even after lots of use. The dual compartments are well-matched: 34 L for general trash, 24 L for recycling, so I don’t have to empty the recycling side super often. The liner pocket inside is clever, I can stash a roll of liners right in the bin so changing bags is quick and less messy. Pedal feels sturdy, lid closes quietly, and overall it looks premium in my kitchen. Performance / Quality In everyday use this bin works very well. The pedal is wide and feels durable; even with daily stomping (kids, cooking, etc.) it seems solid and doesn’t squeak or wobble. Lid “soft-close” is a big plus — no loud bangs or slams. The liner rim holds bags neatly without overhanging or slipping in, which keeps things looking clean. On the downside: because it’s large and dual compartment, it takes up quite some floor space (Width ~22", Depth ~14.2", Height ~25.8") so it’s best suited to a decent sized kitchen, not a tiny one. Also, the stainless steel finish is good at resisting fingerprints, but you can still see smudges if you touch it directly or with wet hands. This may sound daft, but it is a lovely looking bin! Actually though, it sits in view all of the time so you want it to look good. It came quickly and as it’s quite pricey I had to provide a one time code. It comes with 10 bags and a sample pod that disguises any smells. The pedal mechanism for opening the bin is intelligent and seems pretty robust so far - there’s electronic to wrong. It comes with a 10 year warranty so if anything does go wrong with the mechanism, support is there. The top of the bin hides the bag and top of the recycling caddy and this and the lid are both soft close. It does sit an inch or so away from the wall as the bags are stored on the back and can be pulled through the general waste side so the bin doesn’t need to be moved every time you replace a bag. I’m going to order the food caddy that can be added to the side as it looks good but at the time of writing this review it is out of stock. It has a coating that has so far been resistant to fingerprints as advertised. All in all, so far I like it, it is thoughtfully designed and I would definitely recommend it. I know it’s expensive but you get what you pay for.

Bought this bin plus the composter caddy that fits to the side. Expensive for a bin but it does look great in the kitchen. So if you need to have your bin somewhere visible to everyone, it is worth the outlay. Feels like it will last forever as well. You can setup a subscription service with simplehuman for bin bags, recycling bags and compostable bags, plus the scented odour removers.

The bin isn't cheap but feels very sturdy and well made. I've bought numerous cheaper pedal bins and have always found they end up breaking easily due to poor design and always end up stinking/rusting from inside. We've had our bin 6 months and it still looks as good as when we first bought it. The hidden bin liner holder insider makes it perfect and easy to switch bins out, rather than faffing looking for the bags under the sink. Nice and clean design and despite the costly price tag it's well worth it

Love it... this dual bin - recycling and rubbish, seems very strong - and heavy! I struggled getting it out of the box and lifting it. I was replacing a smaller Simple Human dual bin which was still great, but I wanted the one you can hook a food recycling bin on to it's side. The lid is very quiet - in fact I cannot hear it falling at all. It seems like it will last a long time as it is sturdy.

The thought of buying a $200 trash can kind of turned my stomach a bit but I was also tired of nice looking trash cans that wore out quickly or ugly dirty plastic ones that had no sense of style. Instead of having a nice dinner with the wife out on the town or buying some rare records I'd had my eye on, I used a bit of extra income to buy a really nice trash can. And I am thrilled with it! This review is actually for the SECOND can of this size I bought. Last year around this time I procured the can for our kitchen and just recently bought this one for my mother. It is great because it has a nice soft close lid that doesn't spring open when you don't want it to. It is brushed metal so it looks good in just about any kitchen. We live in a mid-century modern ranch with high ceilings and an open concept while my mother lives in an early 90's suburban home that has never been updated, and in neither location does this guy look out of place. It is quietly unassuming. Another feature I love is the built in bag holder for the trash. While it specifically houses Simplehuman-branded bags, I am a fan of these custom bags even though they cost a bit more. They fit the cans well and are exceptionally sturdy, so again, I feel I am getting value in quality even though I am paying a bit more. We are a house of two and only fill two bags a week, tops, and my mother is a widow who will probably only fill a bag every 10 days. The recycling tote is excellent. While we live in a city with mandated recycling and a dedicated recycling trash can we keep in our garage, we just fill it up and dump the recycling right into the rollout bin in the garage and do not use the blue bags, but the tote had a handle on it like a bucket so it is an easy process of removing and putting it back. I actually wish the recycling bin was larger as we fill that up every other day, so it is constantly full. My mother on the other hand, lives in a city where recycling is optional, so I got her the SImplehuman blue bags that fit this can and she likes it because it does not get too full or heavy for her to take out on trash night on her own, but likes that she is able to recycle with out it being a messy pain. Clearly this is a versatile trash can even in these two environments. I never thought I'd be telling friends and family to plop down $200 on a trash can, but over the past year, I continually have. This arrived better than expected. It’s the nicest standalone waste bin that I’ve ever used. The bags fit well and are easy to put in. The full bags come out easily. The foot pedal works nicely and the lid is very quiet and effective. It’s attractive as a steel can goes. It has a compartment to hold more bags but after we used the ones that came with it, we just use the standard kitchen size bags from the store. After moving from a home with a hidden can in the cabinet, hubby wasn’t too thrilled that we were going back to a stand-a-lone trash can again. It seems you never have room for them and it’s never in a convenient place when you find room. And they are usually pretty ugly. But we both really like this one.

Comme toute chose, si l'on souhaite acquérir quelque chose d'esthétique, durable, facile à utiliser, il faut mettre le prix... Cette poubelle est certes chère mais contrairement à d'autres elle répond aux précédents critères. Il s'agit d'une acquisition pour de très nombreuses années et non du jetable en plastique (pensons à notre planète). Les sacs de la marque, eux aussi plus chers que dans le commerce, s'adaptent parfaitement et sont effectivement d'une grande solidité. En plusieurs mois d'utilisation, je n'ai eu aucune fuite liquide dans le fond de ma poubelle ni de sac qui se déchire quand on les retire, ce qui est fort appréciable. Pourtant, je la charge au maximum. Je vous conseille de les acheter en grande quantité afin de bénéficier d'un prix plus attractif à l'unité (sur Amazon ou sur le site du constructeur). La conception en inox permet un nettoyage facile, attention toutefois à ne pas utiliser le grattoir de votre éponge afin de ne pas la railler. Avec cette poubelle, vous n'aurez plus de honte à la laisser apparente. Aucune odeur à déplorer (sauf quand on l'ouvre évidemment). Le petit plus est l'emplacement pour ranger vos sacs. Pour résumé, il s'agit d'un achat que je ne regrette vraiment pas et que je conseille sans hésitation.
