I bought these as a hardy variety to grow outdoors with no trouble but decided to germinate them in my kitchen in an old egg carton box both as a test and due to the time of year (early March). The photo shows the results after 14 days; the first sign of sprouting was around day 11. The minimum temperature on a sunny window sill covered with the egg box top was about 15C - though probably exceeded 25C in the daytime. The seeds planted outside - on the other side of the wall in the same compost - have yet to show any sign of sprouting. The germination rate of the seeds was very good - such as I can tell 100% as I was aiming for 2 seeds per well but occasionally extra seeds dropped in and I had so many it wasn't worth trying to retrieve them. (In the photo the two rocks are deliberate as these are wells I'd already re-planted when I took the picture; these seedlings seemed to have survived even though they are very small). The resealable bag they are supplied in is surprisingly useful as an innovation making the spare seeds easy to store.

Actually Grows
I sowed the seeds and in 2 weeks time my pot is full of Kale leaves .. the leaves are still young but Yes its growing fast every day .. The quantity of seeds is good and I guess most of my seeds germinated ... I will buy again for next season. Recommended product. An advice keep the pot in sun after u see the stalks sprout out ..

Great product.... garden blooming with kale
The garden has been overtaken by kale!!! Initially we planted in troughs indoors. They looked quite feeble when we moved them outside so we planted seeds straight in the outdoors dirt. Everywhere you look now it's kale and more kale. Excellent quality. They last longer than the supermarket kale. Had some in the fridge for nearly a week, they didn't turn yellow like those we used to buy from the supermarket...We have given some to friends and family and they love it. We still have loads of seeds left!!!
