Max Payne [DVD] [2008]

This movie has two of my favorite actors in it : Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.Basically it is a story of murder and mystery and for me nothing gets better than that.I have never played the game, so I can't compare it with the movie, all I know is that it is a REALLY good movie !5 stars from me !

Delivered in attentive next day prime. Bought this to rematch after a time. Based on the 2001 video game actually it's the first game character to be better acted,Mark Wahlberg stars as max new York cop who's family and partner brutally murdered embarking on a maverick path attempts to seek those responsible ventures into underworld joining a unlikely alliance with mona sax soon fight powerful foes,very underrated, cracking effects and visuals.lionhearted dark slain conspiracy, fine action shot sequences are top draw, well balanced story watchable viewing

I love Mark Wahlberg. This film is adrenaline charged from start to finish. The Acting was excellent by all. The story was good. A tale of murder and mystery and one mans redemption through vengeful pursuit even to his own death. The pace excellent. I do like a film to keep moving rapidly when it is specifically a violent and revengeful saga.

This is a keep forever movie, got it on disc but I wanted a back up.It makes you realise, recently, there's an awful lot of rubbish being made. Suppose it's to do with the pc brigade.

Like many I have played the Max Payne games and was interested in the film when I heard about its production. Mark Whalberg is an actor I like so it sounded like a good choice to play the title character. However, the film isn't particularly faithfull to the game which is where I think the film falls down. The film does pick elements of the games story - some characters, the drug which plays a critical part in the film as well as the name of the company at the centre of the storyline. I anticipated some artistic licence to be involved in making this film. I didn't expect it to be exactly as the game portrayed but I don't think the changes were done that well. The game had a really engaging story and this just had to be imitated in my view. I don't think there is a great deal of point trying to fix something that isn't broken. However, the insane determination of Mr Payne is done well and he will stop at nothing to ensure 'justice' is served. The film doesn't need a great deal of attention spending on it to follow the re-hashed plot but in general I found the film perfectly enjoyable despite this. It does entertain and in the end that is the point of films. As a result this film is worth a go.

But it`s a cool adaptation that MG gives it his usual energy. . One for the fans

Very underated- If you liked the game, you`ll like this- simpleLets be honest, this is a no brainer film, its an action/crime thriller and I dont think john moore`s intention was to create the next 'departed' or win many oscars with this one. So lets assume max payne is a fun film to just chill and watch. In that sense,the film does what it sets out to do.What comes across so brilliantly are the fantatsic visuals, so in tune with the video game, dark and moody. Some fantastically shot action sequences in a homage to films of the 90`s like the matrix that didnt rely ENTIRELY on CGI, but also on camera techniques to amaze the viewer.4 stars- because as long as you watch this film leaving your media studies "whats the sub-plot then, wheres the meaning" brain at the door, you`ll love it. Something other reviewers seem to have forgotten

I'm not sure what I expected to see when I put this film into my dvd player but I was pleasantly surprised although I feel that a lot more could've been made with this story, The acting was mediocre but the action was slightly dark.I would hope that a sequal is planned and if so I would watch it.

What to say about a movie? it's good, has Mark Walhburger, lots of action, DVD didn't come damaged same with the case.
