Great Christian Artist of all time sinning in the name of Jesus!
This must have for Christian and none believer's this goes will depth in the history of slavery and the Christmas story about is about Jesus birth. Most people today don't know is all about the birth of Jesus not All about me and want gifts and I received. on TV they don't have any clean and the birth of Jesus and rising king an our spirit name of the Lord. Is sand that they don't have it more about the birth of Jesus, Santa and the Elvis and the all thing goes on with the world. but every one needs the truth Jesus this DVD must have during Christmas all the time. Highly recommended.

Nicely Done
I liked this movie, but my parents loved it! They were glued to the TV. It was slow paced enough for them to follow along (they're in their 80's) and they reminisced about the old days and saw familiar situations in the movie, where there could relate to some of the struggles they experienced growing up in the south. The narration and filming was well done.

Not what I expected
I thought this was an actual movie but it was more like documentary with singing. It didn't really hold my kids interest. And while the music is beautiful I expected to hear more black spirituals and lasso learn more about slave customs. Still their are a lot of teachable moments in it.

Loved this Christmas musical. A great video to should during the Christmas season. Whintley Phipps was awesome in this video.

Excellent value for the price
It a Christmas movie, but I have no doubt it will be great because Whitley Phipps is starring and singing, and he has a voice that could only come from God !!!!

Religious HIstory and Black history combined
My Nigerian friends loved this movie (and the music). They were totally surprised at the story of slavery in the South.

A review of history
Was raised in the area these songs speak of. Not too many of us these days remember. We desperately need to be reminded from whence we came. If not where does our future lie. Only in His loving arms can we be reminded and give Thanks where it is due.

Wintley Phipps truly has a great talent in his singing voice. This movie a big disappointment, not at all what you expect. Only giving it 2 stars because of his talent of singing.
