Brilliant!
These are brilliant. Ordered two so my son didn't feel left out whilst I was zapping flies (+ mosquitoes). Don't wack the target, fly just needs to fly into it or gently tap it if it's at rest. Before trying them out on flies my brothers and I thought it would be a good idea to test the shock ability out on ourselves DON'T do DANGEROUS. There are three layers of like metal mesh and a plastic thing In middle. We weren't getting very good shocks from the outer layers at all so we're convinced the first zapper was broken. Put batteries in second one and thought that was naff too until I squeezed both sides with my thumb on one side and four fingers on the other, got the shock of my life VERY powerful (+ I've accidentally been shocked by an electric fence around a horse field before) this didn't go down to my feet but the shock which shot up my right arm was painful and was still hurting five mins after I'd let go of it. After reading reviews on other websites neither fly zapper was dodgy, both work. The two pieces of mesh grids on either outer side are protective barriers to stop you accidentally shocking yourself but still works on flies as the next layer gets them (which I struck when I squeezed it) just be careful and use them for the intended purpose - they work and are a brilliant addition to the home.I don't know how strong the electric current is, I'm presuming these aren't manufacturered in UK as no safety marks on them. No European safety marks either. My dog goes bonkers when I use it, I presume he can hear something which humans can't.I safely keep both zappers away from my ten yr old son on top of fridge freezer - I won't even let him use them.

Simple and effective
great against moths and flying bugs

Cheap, easy to use and it works.
As a WeaponCan an untrained person use it? – Oh yes. 3 missed swipes and an untrained person gets their eye in and becomes an effective hunter killer. Is it easy to use? - Oh yes. Smaller than I thought it would be , but that makes manoeuvrability better and swatting speed faster.Does it kill instantly? – Who cares if it kills or not? You get the bothersome flying insect. You can kill it if it’s not dead. (Suggest wooden skewers to remove carcasses)As a GameCheaper than the pictures, more fun than swingball, good exercise and you get rid of the bothersome flying insects when eating outside. (When you’ve finished the meal you can always go inside and clear the house;-)Suggest quantifying kills, like 1 wasp = 2 small flies, BEFORE use.It becomes addictive and harder as the number of potential victims reduces, probably due to the kill rate or smell of burning victims. Either way the competition cranks up a notch.Tips- Buy more than one and share the hunter killer pleasure.- Sit the two hunter killers diagonally at a table.- If one hunter killer goes to clear the house leave the other hunter killer ‘on guard’ at the table.- Remove tall items from the table.- Hold wine glasses to prevent any accidental spillageNotes- Mine came with batteries.- Don’t bother waiting for the ‘it can kill light now’ light, it’ll be lit when you swat, and if not you stun the blighter ready for more manual disposal.

Ok
Doesn’t seem to work very well unless you trap the fly first then zap it.. but it has to be on the racket. Doesn’t really work when you try swatting around with the zapping thing on.

Do not buy. USELESS.
At first I thought I will save some money and get this for the anything flies that come at summer, attracted by all the plants. It is useless. You need to keep the button pressed to power it and if you swing it too fast it's losing the connection and the power. Furthermore the "net" surface is pretty small making hard to hit day moving flies or even bigger "flyers". Finally when you finally manage to hit something you are most likely to kill it by the force of the impact than the electric net it self since it is not activating unless you hit something big (like your finger big). Really disappointed, wouldn't recommend it for killing flying bugs, maybe for pulling a prank on someone only.

Bane of the Cloths moths
Now every evening I can look forward to coming home from work and instead of just sitting inert in front of the TV screen, I can jump up every few minutes to swat a cloths moth! Great exercise! made better by the random timing. It ticks all the boxes, going from relaxed sloth to instant high speed action, keeping the hunters eye in, the feeling of satisfaction at each kill! The newfound respect from ones nearest and dearest for ones killer instinct! Works for me!Only think I would complain of is that there is no crack or flash as the moth gets fried!

Fly Zapper
One touch zapper. Easy to use. Works as expected. Good solution for annoying house flies. I have a fluorescent fly killer but that's places in one corner. For flies which are in other parts of the house or other rooms it's very difficult to get rid of those. This zapper is perfect solution for that. Excellent value for money.

Fiddly and mostly ineffective
Unfortunately, although this was cheap (and the lack of quality shows in the button, the plastic handle, etc), it's pretty ineffective. To get close enough to be able to zap a fly, you need to waft the large paddle around wildly, and the holes in it are small enough that there's quite a lot of air resistance. This means it requires more effort to move the paddle than you expect, and the draught it creates blows the fly completely clear of the zapper. It was a long shot that it would work, and lo and behold, it doesn't. Meh...PS despite the name, clearly DON'T be zapping bees. Or doing anything else to them, other than thanking them for their work in pollinating crops, without which much of the world would be starving.

Cheap but effective nonetheless
It's nice a bit flimsy but great for practicing your swing on Flys it works on larger insects to it just take longer the largest I've used it on and had it work is a carpenter ant though it takes a few minutes to kill them

Waste of time and money
Bought this zapper because I own a similar-looking bug zapper (with a "lightning bolt" symbol in the middle). This one was half the size, but far worse it just doesn't seem nearly as effective. The other zapper has enough power (also off 2 AA batteries) to fry gnats or small flies. This one is completely ineffective against small bugs. With larger bugs (like yellow jackets), you have to trap the bug in one of the cells to kill it. But a fly-swatter would do this far more effectively.BTW, the actual racket sent to me, does NOT have the "lightning bolt" symbol in the middle. In frustration, I touched the zapper (like it tells you not to) and it didn't shock me at all unless I made contact with the two layers, in which case it gave me a very mild shock. Nothing like the terrible shock you'd get from more effective zappers. Maybe this one is a lemon? BTW, this is using fresh AA batteries. So, saying it "doesn't work" is not technically true, but this zapper is useless to me and far, far inferior to similar zappers I've used.

And they are inexpensive
This is the third bug zapper that I have purchased and the other two has been gifts for others people because they work so good. I am a person that doesn’t like bugs in my house so , the zapper is the right tool to have in your hands . I love it.

OK
I order 5 of these because of others I had. These are ok but not like the first ones I owned. They do not always zap when one gets a bug. Part of the fun is the sparks. Even with new batteries it seems like the zap is not as strong in these. If you enjoy the frying of a good size bug this one is not for you These zappers are smaller than the first ones I bought. I thought for the price they would be the same size. If you are going to buy one of these make sure you check the dimensions.

Good zap!
These pack quite the punch (had to touch it). They even fry bugs so fast they don’t even audibly zap.
