This one is the base version, but using the Makita battery with it, gave a good amount of use and battery life. I have a number of Makita tools and not only are they great products, but always feel like really good value for money. It comes with a small dust bag, so happily collects the dust, however I would recommend getting the hoover connection kit if doing a lot of sanding. There are 3 speed levels, but I only really used 2 out of the 3 and although I saw a number of comments about it stopping when using, I can only assume these were people pushing down to hard on the sander and forcing it to stop. As for the noise level, I think this is about standard for these devices and would happily recommend it to anyone.
