To switch nibs, you need to switch the cartridge to the new nib assembly or use a new ink cartridge with the new nib.That being said, the quality of the nibs in this set is much worse than Manuscript's other sets.They look good but are scratchy and almost impossible to use. **Q: Any suggestions as to how to get the ink flowing? And when I mean VERY I mean I ordered it on a Monday and it arrived on the Thursday. I also bought this pen with 30 ink cartridges which were sold separate. The pen has a nice look to and with various sizes is worth it. The pen has a nice hold and make feels sturdy. I am a student and found this really helped to make my various handwritten coursework look a hell of a a lot nicer. The ink does spread though on the page and creates a small lighting effect but does not blot easily.
