A Staple Protein
Ideally I'd rate this 4 and a half stars out of five, it has it's flaws, but I love it. Once I'd learnt how best to use it, it became a staple in my protein cupboard and a favourite at that!I can sympathise with those who find this particular protein to be a little lacking in flavour punch, though I'd say the flavour it does have is not at all unpleasant. On the contrary! I'd say it certainly manages to somehow combine flavours of caramel, chocolate and biscuit with an ever so slightly grainy texture that I, personally, find to be delightful! Despite this, however, the flavour is not overwhelmingly potent and it is not a wise move to try to make a thicker shake in order to condense the flavour, the texture becomes inedible far sooner than the flavour is enriched.Don't make it up exactly as per the instructions!!! The best decision I ever made was to start tracking the protein in all components of my shakes and experiment with using significantly more liquid than is recommended to mix my shakes. I now use a ratio of 1:10 for every protein shake I mix and, provided I'm not using more than 50% water as my liquid, they are infinitely more palatable! I find this to be far less true for whey, but for every plant based protein I've used the texture has been vastly improved with this change in ratio. So that's 1g of protein for every 10ml of liquid, e.g. 20g of Soy Protein in a 200ml protein shake. The next piece of advice I would offer is again related to treating soy protein differently to whey. It's drier, so when you replace flour with soy protein you might need to add more liquid of some kind, perhaps milk or non-dairy milk, to keep it at the right moisture level. It's also a much poorer choice of binding agent, so if you're planning on making any very high protein-low carb snacks do bear in mind that milk or water alone is not enough to bind a soy protein, you will likely need egg of some kind, or egg-alternative (e.g. flax egg, chia egg, gluten, xanthum gum)To make my shakes more enjoyable I use a variety of methods. These include:- Mixing the protein with yoghurt and using yoghurt in the shake- this helps to smooth out any lumps and adds a creamy flavour to the shake.- Adding flavour and depth by adding a teaspoon of cocoa powder, two teaspoons of peanut flour, two teaspoons of maca powder or a flavoured zero syrup.-Adding flavoured stevia drops, in caramel or chocolate to boost the Millionaires Shortbread flavour.-Using ice and a blender to make the smoothest consistency shake possible, my blender is a 300w Duronic BL3 personal blender, but any basic personal blender will do the job and you can normally find one on sale for £15 or less.To summarise; If you are looking for a pure protein to mix with just water to make your protein shakes, it is unlikely this is the one for you. However, if you normally use milk or a non dairy milk, even just partly, to mix your protein, be sure to give it a go! It's not amazingly special on it's own, but it's certainly enjoyable and there are lots of ways to jazz it up and make your protein shake feel like a treat as well as something beneficial for your body.

Does the job nicely *recipe below*
Taste is very subjective, so I won't push that it's the best or the worst ever. I will just give you some facts and a few options to spice up your shakes!Mixing:Please use a blender. Blending it gives a very smooth and near milkshake consistency, whereas depending on the shaker you use, your mileage may vary. My home shaker with a steel ball inside mixed it pretty well and I was happy. My shaker at work is one with the mesh/grid in the cap and it was a lumpy mess every time I try. This isn't my first protien shake so I have no doubt the method wasn't at fault, just keep in mind.Flavor:I brought the chocolate flavour this time which is my favourite. Tastes like chocolate (I would likely be irritable it it tasted like anything else), but isn't too sweet so it doesn't make me feel overly sick after a heavy workout, because of this as well you can experiment with adding additional flavours to make it pop. Doesn't leave a wierd film in your mouth like some vegan shakes can either.Recipes:Everyone has likes and dislikes and your mileage may vary, but I often get bored with a plain shake so I like to mix it up a bit. My favourite way of having these shakes are below, especially in the morning to give me a boost (also because I tend to go with the cardinal sin and hate breakfast!!)*400-450ml Almond or Skimmed Milk.*2 large ice cubes or 3-4 smaller ones.*75-80g of frozen Blueberries.*Teaspoon of chia seeds.*1 scoop of this powder.Pop it in the blender and go for it. Leaves a lush and thick shake which is perfectly cold, refreshing and has that little extra fibre within that slows its path through the stomach and keeps you fuller to longer. Also one of your five a day if you are keeping count! If blueberries are not your thing, swap them out for frozen Cherries for a nice black forest vibe. Also if you like it, for a bit of depth of flavour and some extra antioxidant activity, pop a sprinkle of ground cinnamon in with it.So there you have it, nice simple review and I hope it's useful to you! Enjoy all.

It is just a decent product and it serves its purpose
Before I bought this product I read many reviews and they were really opposed. Some praise this protein powder, others say its texture and taste are horrible. I tell you this - treat protein powder as a supplement, as medication. Do you expect your meds to be tasty? They are meant to be good for your well being, but don't have to be delicious. The ingredients used to make this product are not ingredients which you can expect to taste like a smoothie. Do you prefer healthy protein powder or sugary one, which has got a lot of calories and a high sugar level? Also, the plant proteins never will blend as good as animal derived. It just requires a bit of reasoning, think of chemistry or biology. I have tried a few plant based protein powders and they all taste and mix almost the same. It is just a decent product and it serves its purpose.

Awful
Not only does this taste awful, it some how manages to absorb all the mositure out of your mouth. The powder does not dilute in plant milk or water, so it always tastes powdery. The powder often lumps together and gets stuck to the side of the bottle or base. Will never buy this again

Soy protein isolate 26gs protein per 30g scoop
I really like how easy the soy proteins from the proteinworks mix in either just water or plant based milk. The taste is subtle, not too overpowering nutty choc. The texture is smooth, and can be made super thick if required.I use soy protein powder ocer other plantbased proteins to help ease my peri-menopause symptoms (soy isoflanones).
