Small, compact and powerful.
Used daily. Always works. Have traveled in planes with it multiple times. High beam small enough for hand held. This is an amazing product you end up using it often. Plus if you do get into an altercation, your all good 😉

Good but not great
I rely on Streamlight products! I love the stinger series and so do pretty much the entire US police forces! This one however is a very expensive torch for what you get?Three modes but the brightest setting is the last one and you have to kick through the other two before you can use it? It sounds easy but it's tiresome if you just want max quickly! It also only has 50 lumens, and yes it's a ems themed torch but at near £60 it's easy out classed ?

Quality.
This torch is inferior to the streamlight [ ,purchased about 4years ago] of the same type. Also, the £71.45 as advertised inc postage, but I was charged over £ 80 for this torch.

Expensive tat
A mistake I made buying this - over priced and low quality build and finish. Tail cap switch switches on with slightest touch or knock and coating is not very well done. This flashlight does not feel like quality. It feels like cheaply-made junk. Tail switch feels awful and feels like it will wear very quickly. Resembles Wolfeye flashlights I purchased and gave away. First and last Streamlight I will buy. Fenix, Nitecore, Thrunite, Olight, Zebralight and others make MUCH better flashlights. The cost of this is ridiculous for what it is and I don't know how it is justified. This is another flashlight I will give away. I thought Streamlight made better lights...You can pay less and get much better flashlights.

Extremely powerful little light
I purchased this light from Bass Pro Shops in the USA, but I doubt there is much difference from country to country. This light is blindingly bright - not something you want shone in your eyes on a dark night. This is entirely why I bought it - to ward off any potential attackers. Call me paranoid, but I like to play it safe. This light is sturdy, lightweight, and has three modes (full light, strobe, and low light) so that you can use it in many situations. I took it to Cheddar Gorge and it practically lit up the whole cavern. Highly recommended, with the only downside being that the battery life is not overwhelming and the batteries themselves are relatively expensive. Still a great purchase and investment.

You must be able to find this kind of lite cheaper....

Excellent AA flashlight, bright, durable, and easy to use
I've used a major competitor's brand of black, twist-to-turn-on 2xAA-powered flashlights (both LED and incandescent) for decades. However, I had regular reliability issues with that brand where the light would either flicker, be very dim, or go out entirely. Clearly, I needed something different.I've used other Streamlights as weapon lights for a while and really like them. I also have a larger, rechargeable LED flashlight that is very bright and very useful, but a bit thick. My requirements were fourfold:1. Use 2xAA batteries, and function well with NiMH rechargeable batteries.2. Be robust and durable, and be able to withstand drops, bumps, etc.3. Have a pushbutton switch on the tailcap rather than a twist-to-turn on switch.4. Have a bright "high" mode" and a usable "low" mode with a much longer battery life. This light fits all those requirements. The high mode runs for about two hours and produces 250 lumens, which is plenty bright. The low mode produces 18 lumens, which sounds like not a lot, but is perfect for when I'm out walking the dog or needing to shine some light on something in the house. It's a perfectly satisfactory amount of light for most purposes, and it'll run for nearly two days on low on a single set of batteries. I use the low mode more than the high mode.I typically use eneloop NiMH rechargeable AA batteries (they don't leak and can be used thousands of times!) and they work very well with this light.I don't use the flashing strobe light function, but I can see how it would be very useful for signalling or disorienting someone (my kids have turned on the strobe and shined it at me, and it is indeed very disorienting). The light is thin enough to slip into a jeans pocket without discomfort, and the clip holds the light securely to the pocket while still being easy to slide it out. Flat segments on the front portion of the light's housing prevent it from rolling on most flat surfaces, which is nice. It's withstood two kids under 10 beating on it for a while, everyday use in my pocket in a laboratory, and a variety of other hostile environments without any complaint or issues. The "TEN TAP" configuration option is useful for changing between the three operating modes: high/strobe/low, high only, and low/high. Personally, I wish there were three additional modes: high/low/strobe (so I don't have to skip past the strobe to get to low), low only, and low/high/strobe (so I can start in low and switch to high while still having the option for strobe). I normally just keep it on high/strobe/low.In short, it's a fantastic light and I recommend it.

Great Flashlight for Duty Work
I've been using this flashlight as a Reserve Deputy with our Sheriff's Office. Its fantastic. Bright, great throw distance, nice compact size, rugged. I've used it in traffic stops, searching abandoned property, and even used it as a spotlight from a car while another deputy when down into a ditch to a wrecked vehicle. Totally worth the money. I use the rechargeable streamlight batteries with a couple disposables in my bag for backup. Probably the most used piece of gear I have.

Bright and compact!
I like the brightness, the compact size, the Ten-Tap function, and the fact that it takes both 123 and AA batteries. The unit is solid and well finished. The pocket clip is user friendly and secure.Possible improvements on an already good flashlight: ability to operate on 123 rechargeable cells, and thumb switch a bit easier to activate (I find it just a bit too recessed for positive activation every time). Note that these two issues are not deal breakers!

Outstanding light! Consider the 88071 model HL-X instead
This is my second Streamlight HL-X. The first one I purchased is the 88071, this is an 88066. I recommend going with the 88071 because it includes the Streamlight 18650 rechargeable battery - this model ships with two Streamlight CR123s. This was my fault, so I have not deducted any overall stars. The light itself has great output and is well constructed. Out of the box, you get the light, two batteries, a clicky tailcap, and a tape switch tailcap. It also comes with a piece of adhesive for the tailcap, two zip ties, and two rubber feet for attaching the tape switch to 1913 rails. My recommendation is to upgrade to a Cloud Defensive LCSMK2J tape switch mount, since the zip ties can get a bit unruly and the Cloud Defensive mount has better cable management. That being said, if you are just trying to get your firearm up and running, it is great that Streamlight includes a mounting solution. The tape switch itself is somewhat mushy but can be activated across the whole length of the switch, unlike some other options I have tried where you need to press directly in the middle. The constant activation button has a helpful shield around it to prevent unintentional activations, and I tend to mount my tape switches so that this button faces away from me.The Streamlight HL-X ships with a 1913 thumb screw mount installed in the box. This is an okay mount, but it is a bit on the bulky side. The HL-X is compatible with most Surefire Scout footprint mounts, so I replaced the included 1913 mount with a Magpul M-LOK offset Scout polymer mount and hardware from Arisaka defense. If you don't want to pay for the $3 in hardware, you can attach the 1913 thumb screw mount to the Magpul offset adapter as well since it has a slot for the cross bar.The main downside to the HL-X's mounting system is the screw body placement. Most Surefire Scout lights and other lights that use the same two hole mounting pattern bias the mounting holes to the rear of the light to move the light forward on the gun compared to the mount. Surefire does not do this - the holes are smack dab in the middle of the light body. Combine this with the already bulky nature of the Streamlight HL-X and you may have some packaging issues when trying to set up a weapon with limited rail space. I may eventually transition to a Haley Strategic Thorntail SBR mount to remedy this since it pushes the light even farther forward. I would simply go with a longer Arisaka in-line mount and put it on the 1:30 section of 1913 rail, but the screw hole location prevents you from using the Arisaka in-lines without modifying a hex key to tighten the hardware.Overall, for the price, I feel that this light, despite the bulk and mounting issues, is a solid contender for a carbine or shotgun. With some upgrades to accessories like a light mount and a tape switch mount I think the Streamlight HL-X will serve you well.

Durable AF
Do not pay attention to the reviews that say that this thing is hard to operate. It took me less than 30 seconds and no instructions to figure out how to set the light for High, Medium or Low intensity. This thing is build like a tank and is very bright. Both straps are excellent. I actually prefer the rubber strap to the normal strap even when I'm not wearing a helmet. Do not hesitate to buy this lamp. If you have any common sense at all then you can easily set the beam intensity. This is far and away the best headlamp that I have ever owned and I plan to pick up several more before they stop making them.
