Amazing value for money
For less than £4, this unit records the min & max temperature and relative humidity in the room. With a big display, it's really a case of an item that does exactly what it says on the tin.I used it to monitor the humidity level in the room when we dry our clothes with a dehumidifier on. Within ten minutes, I can see that the relative humidity increases by ten percent and carries on climbing until one hour later, it starts to slowly decrease. Happy with the dehumidifier and the rate of water extraction. With this temperature/humidity meter, I can now dry clothes in the living room without worrying about the damp smell, I know a few hours later, it's back to around 60% or less.I also use it upstairs where the heating is less and molds develop in winter. I suspected that our bedrooms were more humid but didn't know by how much. I can see now that I sometimes need to put the dehumidifier on upstairs, it's not just my imagination.I have also used the memory function of the humidity meter to find out what happen to a particular room during the day or night. Keeps the finger pressed on the memory button for a second or two to reset it or a short press to flick between current, min or max temperature/humidity.It was part of an experience to lean more about the house and environmental conditions and whether the solutions we used to address dampness worked and this unit trully delivered.Shipped from China in less than ten days. Absolutely brilliant.

You get a lot for your money
I liked the look of this meter but wasn't prepared to wait 3-4 weeks for a delivery from China. Fortunately, in the 'Other Sellers' option, there was one which was 'Fulfilled by Amazon' & also 'Prime' so I chose that. It added a couple of pounds to the price but it still cost less that £6 and I had the meter the next day.As many other reviewers have mentioned the instructions have been poorly translated from [presumably] Chinese and don't help at all. So, I have taken the liberty of including my own instructions at the end of this review. The meter takes one AAA battery (which isn't included). All you have to do is put it in and the meter starts working immediately. To summarise the features of this meter, it tells you the current temperature, humidity, time & date. It also keeps track of the maximum & minimum temperature & humidity. Just for good measure, it also has an Alarm although I doubt I will use that. With regard to accuracy, it seems about right. I put it next to a completely different temperature & humidity checker that I bought a few years ago. After an hour one was reading 20.2C & 44% and the other was reading 19.9C & 42%. That is good enough for me.The display is quite big with each digit being about 2cm high. I imagine most people will be able to read it from the other side of a room. There is no backlight so you can't use it in a dark room but the contrast is good and you can easily make out everything out from just about any angle. So, if you want to know the humidity & temperature, this little device does the job for a very affordable price.Anyway, here are my instructions in case they are of help:To set ClockHold Mode until beepPress or hold 'Adj' until correct minute is shownPress ModePress or hold 'Adj' until correct Hour is shownPress ModePress 'Adj' to toggle between a 12 hour clock or 24 hour clockPress ModePress or hold 'Adj' until correct Month is shownPress ModePress or hold 'Adj' until correct Date is shownTo switch between Celcius & FahrenheitThere is a little black switch, next to the battery compartment underneath the recess for the stand. Pressing this will toggle between Farenheit & Celcius. Note that you can't see the switch unless the stand is 'out'.To see Min & Max settingsPress 'Memory' to see 'Max'Press 'Memory' again to see 'Min'Press 'Memory' again to go back to current readingsTo reset 'Min' & 'Max'Press 'Memory' to see 'Max'Press & Hold 'Memory' until you hear a beep & the Min/Max reading change to current readingTo see the datePress 'Adj'. I haven't worked out what this does but the instructions describe it as 'The whole point of time' function.Press 'Mode' again to go back to the normal clockTo Turn the Alarm OffPress 'Mode' (the clock will change to the current Alarm time)Press 'Adj' and the Word 'Alarm' will appearPress 'Adj' again, the little symbol will appear instead of the word 'Alarm'.Press 'Adj' again, the little symbol will display as well as the word 'Alarm'.Press 'Adj' again, both the symbol & the word 'Alarm' will disappear and the Alarm is turned offPress 'Mode' again to go back to the normal clock.

Nice piece of kit. Instructions a hoot.
The unit arrived today ( a mere 3 weeks after ordering it online), and first impressions are favourable. Bear in mind that this identical product is available from several Amazon Third Party suppliers at a wide variety of prices, but this is the cheapest I could find, and the fact that it is posted from Hong Kong & takes ages to arrive has lost it one star. Don't order this thermometer from this supplier if you have an overidingly urgent & immediate need to check the temperature and relative humidity is all I'm getting at.However, it arrived securely packaged but you'll need an AAA battery to hand, as one isn't supplied. It's quite large (about 4 inches square) and therefore, as some 75% of its face is devoted to the LCD display, the characters are very large and easily read. The same can't be said for the minuscule instruction sheet, which is an absolute hoot to read actually. I laughed out loud at the absurd mangling of the English language this piece of paper displayed. It's almost totally unintelligible & you'll need an Enigma machine to decode its cryptic message, but the wife & I had endless minutes of fun & laughter working out what it actually meant. But actually, as there are only 3 buttons to press on it, trial & error gets the thing working & displaying the correct time & date in a few minutes. It does the temperature bit itself with no user involvement required. For its absurdly low price, the machine is very nicely finished & looks a lot more expensive than it is and as a matter of interest I placed it side by side with another old digital thermometer I've had for many years and eventually both units read the same temperature, to within a decimal point, so I guess it's pretty accurate. I mean, what's 0.1 of a degree C or F between friends??I think it would be ideal for a greenhouse owner, as it can display maximum and minimum temperatures and humidity by date, if you want, which data can be reset by pressing one button on the back, helpfully labelled "Reset", so they at least got that word right. You can also change the display from Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit if you're American or very old. Jolly useful. Perhaps.I don't really know why I've wasted 20 minutes typing this & staring at two digital thermometers comparing their accuracy, on a review of a product costing £3.22, but there you go. The humidity in my computer room is 40%, by the way, in case you're interested & it's 20 C. Which is nice.Anyway, all in all, I like this product very much indeed & recommend that, if you need one, buy this one. It looks very swish & modern & seems to do its modest little allotted task very well, & keeps a Chinagentleman or Chinalady in a job too. Pity about the instructions though.....they might have thought of passing them to someone who could actually speak English before printing them, but a minor niggle.Oh, and it has a pair of dinky little fold-out legs at the back so you can prop it up, and a keyhole thingy in the back so you can hang it on a nail if you're that way inclined.

Consigliato
