Having just recently purchased an iOptron CEM40 mount, this cable was needed in order to connect the GoToNova 8407+ hand controller to my ZWO ASIAir Pro imaging controller so that it could control the mount. With both this cable the mounts USB 2.0 cable plugged into a passive USB3 hub which was in turn plugged into a USB3 port of the ASIAIR Pro, full control functionality of the CEM40 was finally realized. Tonight however, after moving the CEM40 under a roof while finishing up an imaging session of calibration files, I happened to notice a short wire protruding from where the wire should have been going into the RJ9 modular connector...the wire had broken! Now, I'm not certain if this was due to any accidental handling on my part where I might've tugged the cable, but at one point in the evening I thought I'd done that. So, perhaps it is my fault the cable wiring broke, but it also suggest to me the durability of this particular cable is lacking. I'll be purchasing another from a different vendor just in case they are made by different manufacturer's, in the hope the new cable will be a bit more robust. Pictures don't suggest any reason to expect that, as the cables look identical. Meanwhile, I repaired mine by cutting about 6 inches off the end of an old phone cord, then splicing the two cables together, noting that the wiring of the phone cable was different with red and black reversed, yellow from the phone cable going to green of the controller cable, and green from the phone cable going to white of the controller cable. Heat shrink tubing tidied things up a bit. I've yet to test the cable but it should work out OK. Regardless, a new cable will be a prudent backup to have on hand so I'll still order another.
